I just knew after seeing girls naked.

My mind: "So that's what it's for." etc.

I got an errection when I was about 4 or 5 watching a girl on a hair spray advert. I asked my mum why and she told me.

because what will they gain from the knowledge of sexual acts at the time anyway?

it is retarded to expose kids so young to concepts so complicated. people and threads like these and the many littering kmc are proof enough of the way the idea of sex facinates and befuddles masses of fully grown sexually active adults. how on earth would a 5 year old make exposure to sex a worthwhile experience?

How on Earth would a child make exposure to violence a worthwhile expierence?

"No little Jimmy, you can't watch this part of Starship Troopers, there's sex in it. *Covers Jimmy's eyes* Okay! Now there just fighting, you can look now. "

It's retarded to assume the point is to make them have a worthwhile experience.

Saying something so simple as "The man puts his ding dong in the woman's...whatever and..." etc is all that's needed. It doesn't need to be graphic, it can even be dulled down, but the jizz-t of it is the same.

If you are gonna suggest people wait until their kids are older they're just gonna learn in school, come home and ask and the parents are gonna get more embarassed.

depends who you're having it with.

Haven't any of you ever listened to Dr. Drew on Love Line on 107.7 the End?
Exposure to either pornography or sex (whether it be in the form of abuse or whitnessing it or whatever) is detrimental to development and leads to many complications in the future. A child isn't at that point in development yet. They are dealing with the simpler parts of growing up (i.e. social skills, vocabulary etc.). Its too much for them to deal with.
Exposing a child to porn at a young age, in many cases is even considered sexual abuse.

I would disagree, but I'm a pervert, been around sex at a young age and whatnot.

then you might have psychological and developmental issues....

how young were you?

Yes sex is too complaicated for kids.. but headshots certaintly aren't!

sex is a private thing and you don´t want anyone watching you no matter who it is.

Ok maybe some people enjoy being "open", but they are the minority.

But its not for kids, they havn´t got the right bits yet, so they won´t understand it anyway.

specifically, what part of the development of social skills and vocabulary are effected by exposure to pornography?

also, why does explaining sex to your children and being open with them about it mean that they will see porn too early?

I agree with your point, though I might add that I don't feel that everything a child does need be a "worthwhile experience"

I am personally more worried about the exposure of children to gore and violence than I am of exposure to sex, but to be frank, I dont worry much about either. The long term relationship between violent and sexual media and any type of behavioural abnormalities (not just measures of aggression in a lab) is tenuious at best.

I agree.
