It is simple as this: If they ask questions, then answer them in their own understanding. There is nothing to be embarrassed about. It is simply a wonderful and natural thing. It is too bad that many think they cannot talk about these things because of some embarrassment, or taboo. It's not an awful thing as some might think, and to give that opinion to children is to tell them that what is natural and beautiful is terrible because it is too embarrassing to speak about.
They dont teach sex ed until 5th grade in most places I know, usually by then, they already know how things generally work. Its best it comes from the parents at an earlier age. Talking openly with your children can help them understand that you dont think sex is dirty or something to be ashamed of.

Kids are always be kids..They don't understand the essence of SEX in there young age.....
