Street Fighter IV

With the chars I have knowledge about he is a peace of cake, but I found myself hating the guy when I was playing as Viper and he kept cheaping my ass.

IMO Gill is still cheaper.

Oh and ultras are great for beating him.

Edit BTW does anyone else love Seth's Ultra?

YouTube video

I've unlocked every character except Gouken. How do I unlock him?

To unlock Gouken you need to beat the game with Akuma, and then after that you need to beat it with a character you've already beaten the game with and get 2 perfects, and get 3 Ultra combo finishes, and not use a continue. if you do it correctly after Seth you will fight Gouken. Then you just beat him and you should unlock him.

Thanks. I'll try that later. I've been playing since 9 this morning, and my hands are starting to hurt. I need a haircut, and then I'll start up some more.

I wonder why Dee Jay and T. Hawk weren't included in the game. Besides the obvious fact they they sucked, I mean.

Seth aint that hard 2 me wit characters I know how to play wit. I'm still missin' like 6 characters but I aint takin' the easy way out, plus I aint got Live so I need to make the challenge of this game last as long as it can.

Me and my buds can't put this damn game down, I'm ashamed of myself. I said I can't sit in the house, I have to venture into my social life and politic a bit. I said I'm gonna beat the game wit 2 characters a day and set my 360 to auto shut off after an hour. But when I finnish wit the 2 characters I end up in practice mode for like 2hrs just doin' combos, when the guys come over, we play for like 5hrs literaly. When ever the shutdown warning pops up I suspend it. I have a problem and it's called SFIV, help me....

Believe me when I say this, that Seth is quite an easy boss to fight up against, even at the hardest lvls, in comparison to SF's past bosses...

Let me mention these...

WW. Bison - Instant Scissor kick lockdown's with no charge, and if this connected, he could auto-link to another scissor kick lockdown...bam, 4-hit combo, you've just lost 75% of your 100% life. His Headstomp had an auto-lock on your character, and his throw alone took off as much as mp strength Zangief SPD.

ST. Akuma (ST) - Dual Air fireballs, comboable hurricane kick, stupid ashura warp, 3-hit shoryuken no matter what lvl, CE/HF Ryu speed Hadouken's, super fast 3-hit Hadouken, throw range almost nearly as far as Zangief's, and twice the speed of Ryu/Ken.

Alpha 2 Akuma - Literally one of the most stupid Akuma's EVER, period. Dual Airballs for Alpha 2 were different then all other "Shin" Akuma's in that both of them traveled in different but perfect directions. Making it impossible to avoid one or the other, where as all other Shin Akuma versions, it traveled in almost relatively the same vicinity. His Dual Air fireball in here is the most broken version out of any Shin Akuma ever bar none.

He had instant recovery from his Ashura warps, so he could SGS instantly off of it, any sweep's that you whiffed ='s Super Fireball counter from him or worse yet a SGS that took off nearly 80% of your life, and traveled twice as fast along with the distance.

All three of these SF bosses were way more stupid in their game then Seth actually is in SF:IV. Seth is very beatable, and the biggest differences is that he doesn't do as insane damage as the ones above, and his although they have strong priority are no where near as stupid as the ones above. I mean, the amount of damage Seth does with his Ultra, is like equivelant to the amount of damage WW. Bison would do if he just landed one scissor kick to you.

As for Gill he isn't that difficult at all, simply because with Parry, and the fact that cpu's are very readable, you can literally parryxxpunish him to almost oblivion. Alpha 2 Shin Gouki is still by far imo the most retarded and overpowered boss within the SFII/Alpha/III series, and yes including IV.

On a side note, my old boss from Gamestop gave me a call to join in on the tournament, I didn't go to join, however I did show up for a little bit today and did a bit of casuals before the tournament actually started.

I played 24 casual games with 14 different players, and out of the 24 sets, I won 21 out of 24...on the CRAPPY 360 Controllers, rofl!!!

Funniest thing was, there was things that I completely whiffed on, or just completely mistimed due to the atrocious 360 d-pad. Oh well, it was fun to mess around, and to be honest, if I'd of been serious and really taken my time, I wouldn't of been surprised if I had won. The only serious peeps there that I would've worried about a bit would have been my cousins and a few friend peeps I knew...basically people I used to play with years ago...rofl. Go figure, oh well, I left before it started and wished everyone luck.

Hope anyone here who actually went to the tournament that you enjoyed it, even if you didn't win, that you at least experienced it and had fun.

Anyhow, I'm done with SF:IV for a while, need to work, and I have some projects due in soon for my job, so I have to focus on that. So no more Hadouken's and Shoryuken's for a while, but I'll make sure to check up on here in case some peeps have questions that I could possibly answer if I knew it.

Peace All.

You make Seth sound like a breeze, he aint as hard as the bosses you named but dude is still hard as hell.

i could do ultras on my ps3. but i just bought it for my 360 and i cant do them for shit

Maybe for you he's difficult, but for me he's really not difficult at all. I can catch CPU Seth in things that I would never, ever be able to catch a solid player in. Not only that, but Seth is made with the intention that he isn't going to be overpowered meaning broken level. So his moves although they do have good priority, they aren't over the top stupid.

I've done things like random jump in fk, sweep setups and random Shoryuken's and I'll catch Seth multiple times with it. However here's a video of Seth at the hardest lvl and exactly what I said earlier about random jump ins catching him, notice how many times this guy lands jump in fk and sweep...also notice he's not entirely good in this game either.

He's not that difficult, believe me.

He is not that difficult if you're a dedicated SF pro with years of experience. To any normal / casual player the guy is hard as hell on any thing above easy, he teleports to much and constantly uses Zangeifs move. I have only been playing it for two days so maybe I just need more practice however if you are not a SF fanboy you are going to get angry when you first fight Seth.

Seth is about as bad as MKvsDC's Dark Khan. How Capcom brought this guy up in their heads is beyond me.

Must pick up this game! ASAP!

(Why I haven't yet is beyond me.)

Probably because you've been trying to save money for RE5.

The reason Ono didn't put any Final Fight characters in there was due to copy rights difficulties. I forgot, but there was someone else that he really wanted from Final Fight in there also, but due to the stupid copy rights and the sheer hassle of going through that to get it, he simply just decided to not put FF character's in it.

Sad but true really, I would have loved to of seen Guy in this game, however these rights disputes are as dumb as what took place with TvC.

Btw, this past week, getting into srk.com has been an absolute nightmare with over 4,000+ people on per day over there, there servers have been ridiculously slow, however that's a good sign, that people ARE interested in SF:IV.

SF:IV>>>>>Tekken 6, SC4, VF5, all of them, muahahahahahahaha.

Wait, copyright difficulties? That's strange. I thought for sure the since the two series are both from Capcom and are very close, since they do take place in the same universe, they could've put him in there anytime.

Well darn, that really sucks! 😠

And were would Saget street fighter 1 fit into this?? 2 tiger shots, or one perfect time tiger uppercut, and it was game over.

That game was atrocious, the fight with Sagat wouldn't be nearly as hard if the execution for the moves were not on the borderline impossible to do. Just launching out a Hadouken was ridiculous.

However if you at got it down, the game was very easy, only in the fact that one Shoryuken took off around nearly 50% of your 100% life. So three landed Shoryuken's = you win the round. Even the Hadouken was ludicrious in that it nearly took off 45% of your, and on block it still took off around 40%. In fact the Hadouken, Shoryuken, and Hurricane kick all took of insane damage.

You could fight Sagat land any of these 3-4 times in the round, and you win. It really wasn't that Sagat was very diffibult but more so that the controls were just absolute garbage.

Still Sagat did more damage than any boss that came after him. SF1 was mostly about who can thown there 2 or so fireballs FIRST, and land. Than you win the match.

Suppose looking back at it, all the fights with Mike, Joe, Birdie, Sagat, ete were mostly the same thing. Get in your power moves FIRST.
I always thought Sagat was pretty hard myself. I only beating the game unbeating 2 times so far. And once I master the controls as best I can. Only Sagat relly defeated me. It took mostly 2 or 3 trys to finally get the win over him pergame, outside of running unbeating of couse.

I can totally stomp the dude wit guys I'm good wit, but wit the other 18 characters, I take at least 5 continues. The PS3 version must be easier cuz the dude has almost no openins and EXTREME receovery, the man can do like 3 EX or HP Shoryukens in a row wit no consequence and can stand in front or behind you while your getttin' up and grab you. I have to pick Sagat or Ken, run in and do Tiger Knee/Shoryukens combos rapidly like my life depends on it and I almost always win wit a perfect. That's the only easy way to take him down.

I've unlocked every character and I'm currently trying to master Akuma's Ultra move. I just can't seem to get it right.
