JustFrame, Any tips on the timing for Shoryu xx FADC xx Metsu?
like.. I double tap to dash cancel.. but the timing to actually cancel it with a dash seems wonky...sometimes it registers and others not, then by the time I get a dash out and get out the QCFx2 + PPP, game winds up reading it as an EXshoryu 🙁
(and while I'm at it.. does the timing for SGS inputs feel different at all to you from previous games?)
I've been working on those dash cancels myself. I've got them down pretty good, can do them in training mode pretty easily now, both Ken's and Ryu's. The only real tip I can say is to try and get it down as a reflex, like imagine it's all one move and do the shoryu and immediately the FADC, with Ryu you don't have to do the metsu immediately like you do with Ken, so it's a bit easier. Just keep practicing.

Thanks man.
I can perform the FADC no problem, but I kept getting the Ex Shoryuken instead of the metsu. I did manage to pull it off twice but the ultra didn't hit because it came out too fast, so I think what you're saying is probably true.
Edit Is anyone else annoyed at how bad the quality was for the anime after Capcop showed us that great animated footage of Ryu vs Akuma?

I changed the controller setup and finally pulled it off durw00t All that is left is to master it and get used to the new controller scheme.
Also.. I think nearly everyone I know is pretty pissed with the animated feature, after seeing the ryu /akuma/ ken short

That's pretty cool. I might try to find the lyrics for the song.
One low short into EX Legs
Two low shorts into EX Legs
Three low shorts into EX Legs, Then combo that into Ultra~
This girl, is so fine, the range on her pokes makes her one of a kind
Link a standing fierce, from a low jab. Then mix it up cuz chun li has disgusting range on her grab
But EX Legs, is quite enough.. and dont waste your meter on a super and stuff
Ex Spinning Bird, is a good wake-up, but if their kick is too deep it just might get stuffed
Double Fierce, (in the air) is really great, and when they get hit it puts them in a juggle state~
Juggle with , EX Legs
Juggle with , EX Bird
Juggle with, Ultra~ Dont pretend you havent heard~
But Chun li, has a damage handicap, but it dont mean that she cant give them the ***** slap~

That song is great, and gave me a nice understanding of Chunli(never been good with her)
As for Ryu's ShoryuxFADCxUltra I switched the left shoulder buttons with the x and a buttons. Makes it much easier. Problem is when I use other characters...so I ended up switching it again and managed to pull it off.
I tried that last night but instead I switch the left shoulder buttons to the right shoulder buttons. I was able to the move much easier that way, but I decided to switch them back just to see if I can get it right the default way and I got (not nearly as much though). I'll better now though knowing that I can do the combo.
I know what you mean. When I learned I could pull it off and it was the controller being more at fault than me I was fine. Now I can pull off the move over 75% of the time I try it on default. I am now attempting to implement the combo to my strategy.
I'm on a SF roll. DLed all the movies(though I already had all the animes including the series) and I am now dling the Van Dam movie LOLz. I know the movie sucks, but I just want to remember the good ole days when i was a kid and didn't give a shit about a movies quality. Plus its good for a laugh.
Oh yeah I saw some videos of the SF:THe Movie arcade game I used to play long ago...wow. What a mediocre game.

So whats the verdict, is this game worth picking up? Maybe someone can help me out on a recommendation. Is this a fighter that i can jump into or do i have to train and devote time into learning? In other words, im trying to keep the blood pressure relatively low.
This game is worthy every penny. However if you are aiming to compete online you will have to dedicate time. SFer has never been a pickup and compete game. Sure you can spam special moves and do basic tactics, but if you truly want to compete you will have to devote time to master your characters. Its still good if all you want to do is have fun. The graphics are great and stylish, not to mention the animations are priceless--especially the look on your opponent's face when you just performed an ultra and are about to rape them. OST is ok with nice remakes of old school classics like Ryu's theme. The gameplay is solid with a nice throwback to SF2--which makes it easier for newcomers and those who haven't played VGs since SF2. It has colorful roster of characters to boot.
That happened to me too, on my 360. Like 2 days after it came out my friend was playing and in the middle of a match he shut the system off, when I started the game back up a couple of hours later the save file was gone, had to do everything again. I haven't turned off the console in the middle of a match since then and it's been fine.
