No sweat. The 512MB version would have only netted you absolutely minuscule performance increases in only specific games, settings and situations.

Yea, laptops are like that. I guess it would be a prudent decision to just get a XB360 in your situation.

aye. i only got this computer in february, so it's a bit early to be getting a new one.

No Street Fighter tourney has been held yet despite it saying so on their calender, for Aug 1. Now they're saying Fight Night and Super Smash Bros Brawl been replacing SFiv cause it's been more popular.

w/e.

I asked dude if they'll ever even set up for real? And he said he didn't know. So i just left my # and told him whenever his store is ready, let me know.

why dont you start your own? something small I mean.. just to get your fighting-community going

I do. And I trashes 'em all. Don't mean to brag, and not that my group sucks, they don't, but it's get boring after winning against the same people constantly. Honestly it's gotten to the point where sometimes i just plain don't feel like playing at all (if it's against them) Like they can have the title when they play on their own when the have the tournaments but they all know that whomever wins 1st in any SF4 tourney held without me is second really, in reality.

So i look to join other groups whom are hopefully much more difficult and compete for and win their coveted titles.

have you tried setting one up in your area via SRK? (shoryuken.com)

also, do you try to teach your friends how to play? or do you just mash them down when they barely know how to link into ultras?

the way my friends got better was I'd spam them with shit til they learned how to block it / retaliate / punish

Hey you guys, I thought this might interest you peeps...

James Chen one of the top SF dogs of today told a story about how he went to two World's Finest Tournaments back in the Golden Era Street Fighter II days. He then started to talk about just how good Tomo really was, by saying that during the tournament itself, Tomo said that he would just use Guile's shorts to beat his next opponent.

The set came, and Tomo did exactly what he said he would do...he completely and utterly destroyed his opponent with shorts, jumping shorts, punishing with shorts. The most incredible thing was...Tomo didn't even try hard, and he completely dominated his opponent with shorts during this match up.

Now I don't have alot of time left, so this is what I have to say, since I'm on break for work. However, this goes to prove even more, just how much of a real Beast Tomo was. You can talk about doing this during casuals...however during the Biggest SF tournament during it's time...that's absolutely incredible.

If I got beat out in a tournament by nothing but shorts, I would leave the scene for a long while before returning. Tomo The Legend Ohira, Greatest Street Fighter Player Of All Time!

Nah, i haven't set one up. with that site.

And why should i teach my friends how to play. 90% of us have been playing SF since SF2 more than 10yrs ago. They know how to play, they know how to do ultras, again, they don't suck, it's just maybe my thinking is too fast. And I took the time to learn this sfiv for anything new, so can they. I tell them to practice, like i did. I show them some moves but coming up with strategy is something i can't teach them cause that comes from you and only you. Like for some reason i feel that they fight in the moment. Like they just want to connect with a couple of hits, maybe a 2-3 hit combo but as long as it happens right then and their. Like me, i fight with the (immediate) future in mind. I think 2-3 steps ahead. Like for example with ryu, i'd be jumping towards you with a hard kick, connect in mid air but before the connect, while taking off, i'm already thinking about landing on the floor, striking the med punch, med kick, the hard sweep, the med fireball that'd get cancelled, followed by the Ultra dragon punch. (followed buy the KAY--OH!)

And i'll be dammed if i'm to lower my skill level. Don't believe in mercy.

Sucks to be you.

It gets lonely at the top, what can i say.

I tell my friends my strategies. I don't care about them stealing it. It only improves the competition.

I'll tell my friends how to do some moves but i was never a fan of teaching or helping my opponents beat me. They should take it upon themselves to raise their own level on their own.

It goes beyond SF in a way. If you as a person can't get into learning patters, someones fighting style, anticipating moves, practicing on your own, and having calm confidence even when losing, then what help can i offer.

Ultimately it's about winning anyway. Surely i'd like to face fiercer opponents but helping people defeat me is not in the spirit of competition. I feel you should learn how to beat me through your own efforts due to what you put in on your own.

Like me i never asked an opponent how to do things. I just observe, via videos "I got next", youtube tourneys, xbox live fights, or read about it somewhere like online, email newsletters, strategy books, then practice my ass off (in practice mode, w/arrow help) till i perfect the move.

Then when i'm ready to fight i mop the floor with way more than half the fighters i play. Online & offline.

It's w/e. Not a big deal. I find worthy opponents some time soon.

So whats is your xbox live?

Rawk77

Why, do you want to challenge me? I accept, just incase. Are you any good?

There's a tournament for SF:IV coming up in like two weeks I believe (Need to find the actual date), near my hometown, and I might go just to see how the competition locally has been. It should be interesting, and one of my cousins is going to enter, and he's super solid, so I'm expecting him to take it all (he uses Rufus btw).

Lately, I've been playing Super Street Fighter II HD:Remix more so then any other SF game, because I prefer the higher lvl of strategy in it more so then SF:IV, although once in a while I'll get back on SF:IV only when my buddies and I have our get togethers to duke one another out.

I seriously don't know why so many peeps at srk.com say Sagat is no longer in the Top-5 for HD:Remix, the projectile speed is nerfed only to the magnitude of HF. Sagat, which is still super beastly.

Honestly, it's frustrating at times to see new players say "insert character" is no longer that good anymore. Given, O. Sagat in original ST had monster Tiger Shots, however the 4 more frames of recovery only mean, you have to play with less brain dead mentality and more thinking on your part.

It's no different then what took place in Champion Edition with Sagat to Hyper Fighting, the exact same frame change, 11-37 (beastly) to 11-41 (strong but just not stupid).

Those are the exact shifts that happened in ST to HD, yet some peeps are blowing him off saying "he's not as dominant anymore", and of course he's not, however when played to his potential (which I strongly feel, no Sagat player has pushed HD to his potential yet) can still wreck havoc.

I saw the samething from CE to HF, some peeps crying "Omgosh, Sagat got nerfed on his Tiger Shots" then *quits playing him*. However other's simply just adjusted their gameplay and played with slightly more caution, and lord and behold...Sagat is ranked #4 in the Tier List of Hyper Fighting, even with that Recovery Nerf.

So if you see peeps saying Sagat isn't that good in HD, that's a load of garbage, the dude can play incredibly well, Tiger Knee's being able to combo as well, makes him crazy.

Also, man, Guile got alot better in this game, yes, I've said it earlier, however damn, it's nuts. His flashkick improvements and c.mk kinda feels like HF. Guile all over again. The match up against Ryu in original ST was definitely a 6-4 in Ryu's favor.

However now, it's at best, 5-5, because of the beefy pokes and the arching Flashkick of old. Not to mention, I think in some cases, it's incredibly tough, because unlike OG Ryu who had the 11-39 Hadouken's, he's got 12-40 Hadouken's which although only 1-frame more on both ends, is HUGE in the factor when fighting Guile. A less beefy hurricane kick, and pokes don't help either, however, still 5-5 when you play it right. No, I'm not complaining here, Ryu got zero nerfs, so he's still incredibly strong, imo Top-5 in HD simply because he got no nerfs, and he was #6 on the tier list in original ST anyhow, however he's better in here because others got nerfed. Anyhow, I'm really enjoying HD:Remix again, in fact, most of my brother's and I when we do play a fighting game this past month, it's not been SF:IV, but HD:Remix, lmao.

Hopefully someday they make a SFII:Hyper Fighting Remix...now THAT would be the Street Fighter II game I would worship Capcom to revamp.
