The DBZ anime is canon only to the anime. The DB manga is canon only to the manga.
Events took place in the Anime that did not occur in the manga. this is a distinct identifier of seperate canon.
Dr Slump is cannon 2 DB. Arale has appeared in the DB manga and defeated general Blue. Goku vs Kid fight appeared in Dr Slump. Arale was stronger than DB Goku

Not to mention when events in the anime directly contradict the manga (which happens all the time).
As for Dr. Slump, in that series stuff happened like the earth being split in half and the sun being destroyed (which never happened in DB). They were just cameo appearances.
Characters from The Simpsons have appeared in Futurama and vice-versa, and those two shows were both created by the same person, but they are not canon to each other, as an example.

^Yes...Violent Dope. btw Pyron = Super Saiyan
You'll not superman isn't manga either but he still has continuity.
Dr. Slump isn't canon to DB. Events that occured in Dr. Slump did NOT occur in DB.
Same author doesn't mean anything if its two different projects. The Anime was a different project from the manga. They are NOT canon to one another. Since this is a comic book forum we go by the comic book.
If you want I can report you for trolling by intentionally breaking the "No non-canon sources" rule.

No offense but that "Non Canon" rule is a joke, the anime and the manga are the exact samethings. IF akira objected dont u think he would have pulled the plug on the show a long time ago?
So since Stan Lee didn't object to the making of the Spider-Man and X-Men movies, then they're canon?
🙄
Originally posted by The Great GalenJust because he didn't object means very little seeing as how the creator of a manga called Samurai Deeper Kyo didn't object to the mess that is Samurai Deeper Kyo anime and even likes the guy they added that screws up the story even more along with the humans that are killed in the manga are turned to monster things instead. Just because they don't object to what happens in the anime doesn't mean it is canon. As for DBZ there is no way Garlic could be canon either which the anime tries to do by putting him in since Piccolo had never seen Gohan before Radditz came. Not to mention all the others things that are put in to DBZ like Gokou getting a drivers license then all the added fight scenes like Vegetto toying with Super Buu before even going ssj. Some of it's cool but it's just to fill time. Then there is stuff that contradicts things like Vegeta blowing up a planet with just his fingers in the anime yet he has to do Galick Gun to be able to blow up Earth and not even Perfect Cell could blow up Earth casually as he hits the Earth with muliple ki blasts that Gokou dodged.

Originally posted by Sarutobi700Not the ACTUAL arle that appeared in D. Slump I'm affraid, it's what the comic fans would call an "alternate reality version" of Arle.
^^Arale APPEARED in DB and beat someone Goku had trouble with in 3 attacks.
Much like the superman from the cartoons is different from the comics, or wolverine, or Jubilee etc etc... There's an alternate reality version of Superman who is a nazi. but he's not the same superman as the Superman we see more frequently in the comics. One version of Wolverine had rubber bones. Not the 616 WOlverine who has metal bones though.

Arale>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>DB Goku. Arale could not stop an animated version of Kid Buu and Goku. Kid Buu and Goku>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Arale>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>SBP

No Dr Slump and DB take place in the same universe. Akira Toriyama never said "omg this is an alternate Arale",the kid buu vs goku fight actually happened in Dr Slump
