Well if Surfer could absorb all forms of energy then he wouldnt have any problems draining Thanos. I guess its something to ponder, can he do it?
It'd be like draining the webshoots from Spiderman but probably to a lesser extent. Sure, it'd kind of suck for Spidey but he's still pretty effective without them.
Well his energy blasts have to come from somewhere. I would think if Surfer drained him of the source of his blasts I would assume that he would be much weaker. In the GL/Surfer crossover Surfer lost a portion of his Power Cosmic and said in "In my weakened state I cannot overcome such a weapon". Of course he was talking about the GL power ring.
Serioulsy, some people is overrating surfer too much. He is powerful, but not that powerful. If he can absorb all the energy that those people has said, come on, the guy would be unbeatable, not thanos, not doom, not galactus, not fantastic four, not iron man,not thor, not avengers, not odin, nobody could beat him. mmmm, wait a minute, he lost against those people, so, somebody is posting tons of fanboysm here.

Galactus isnt the only person with it. Thanos is a Titan...perhaps the most exceptionally powerful Titan. He wasnt granted the power cosmic...but he has the ability to wield cosmic energy. Dont u read marvel comics...u dont seem as informed about the characters as i thought u were.
We have to assume people like Thanos, Odin, Galactus, etc who can manipulate their energies A) Have too much for Surfer to siphon, B) Have a greater control over their powers so Surfer can't siphon them, or possibly C) It's a type of energy he can't siphon. IE, magic. I don't know if he can siphon magic or not but it's still an option.
Hulk doesn't manipulate his radiation, it just kind of fuels him. Easy to leech if you can avoid the big blunt things at the ends of his arms because he can't resist it.
Superman doesn't manipulate his energy stores per se. Not like Magneto and the EM spectrum or Human Torch with his flames. He focuses them. Given that he's Superman and at one point he could shoot EMPs from his eyes, seriously, I wouldn't doubt he would resist the leeching subconciously or whatever because he's like that.

I already knew this but alot of people do not know Surfer and make alot of stuff up about him. Supermans Solar Energy suppy is to vast for Surfer to drain completely, thats even if he could. Superman is not gonna stand there and let him drain his energy, one punch from Superman would do Surfer in there is no doubt in my mind.
Superman isn't overrated by anyone except a few fanboys lol.
I still don't think that Surfer could drain Supes - his energy is stored chemically.
And Surfer can move at warpspeed right? But can he only move like that on his board?
If he can't move that fast in a close-quarters battle.... then I might give Supes more of a chance than I originally thought....

So he can rearrange stuff to how he sees fit. If surfer wanted too, he could rearrange Superman's head off if he wasn't so naive. How can he hit someone who's not limited to the speed of light? Surfer could go in for a blitz kill before Superman could react same as the Flash in many of his threads only a much faster. Surfer has fought while traveling faster than the speed of light. Surfer doesn't use these gestapo techniques on just anybody. Their are too many variables here for Superman to win. He only uses these techniques on those he perceives as a threat or those with powers he assumes that's on his level or higher.
Both characters are overrated in my opinion. Superman takes the cake though. He has to many incarnations of himself.
