Iron Man

My only complaint about the Iron Man movie is that every time they showed Jeff Bridges drinking, they should have shown him drinking white Russians.

I guarantee you if this movie HADN'T been financed by marvel, they would have found someway to ruin it like they have all the other marvel comicbook movies in the past probably by not bothering to give him the red and yellow suit and would have just given him a plain silver suit.Thats a given.and they would have come up with some lame ass excuse for not giving him the yellow and red suit saying something moronic like-the average moviegoing audience wouldnt be able to accept it seeing a a man flying around in a yellow and red suit, they would be wondering why he would have bothered to do that.they always did come up with some moronic explanation like that in the past when they didnt stay loyal to the source material like Iron man apparenty has.

Do you really expect them to wait 5-6 years to make Iron Man 2 and let Downey age that much. That sounds logical?

Makes no difference to me. Tony Stark age is irrelevant...all he has to do is put on the suit and he flies. Besides, Tony is no spring flower...

Just saw it the other day and its easily my favorite Comic Book movie now.

damn.I had no idea that movie was coming out this fall. 😱 I didnt even know it had been casted or that even a script had been written yet. let alone that it was coming out this fall. 😱 Man I am psyched for this movie.Gives me another reason to get excited about the dark knight being released.you would think they would show the previews of that movie then as well.Man thanks for showing that.I really been out of the loop lately.I never even remember Raz ever showing ANYTHING here at KMC that Wonder Woman was in the works.Damn from the looks of it,this could replace Superman as my favorite comicbook movie ever.

LoL, and it's "caucasians"

Tony Stark's age in the movie is entirely irrelevant. First off, Downey may not even want to do them anymore when he's older.

Second, it's people saying his age isn't relevant who would probably say "An old man couldn't do that.". Age definitely is relevant, it's precisely the reason so many people couldn't take Ian McKellen's Magneto entirely seriously.

Brian Singer obviously thought "Just put him in a suit and he does magnet stuff.", but that's not it. He's a post-middle aged, very well build, strong voiced individual.

People didnt take Ian McKellens Magneto seriously because he didn't capture the essence of the character. They could have use someone like Sean Connery with his deep voice and he would have pwned right then and there.

Once Downey sees the big pay check he will do more sequels. I don't see why not....

I thought his Magneto was very good. Not like the comic book one, but a very interesting take on it.

Patrick Stewart would make an awesome Mr. Freeze.

Cause he is bald?

Agreed: I think both McKellen and Stewart did a wonderful job with their characters, even more so when they shared an scene

For the sequel, I think that a revamped cross between Armor Wars and Demon In A Bottle would work pretty well.
Have Justin Hammer hire Spymaster to steal blueprints of the Iron Man suit, in which then Hammer hires Anton Venko to create a new suit. However, Vanko steals the suit for himself in the name of a new technological era, and tries to force Tony Stark into helping him.
But that's not all. Venko wants his two closest partners Abner Jenkins(Beetle) and Dr. Topolov(Titanium Man) to join him.
The press find this all out, and make Tony Stark out to be the cause of all of this.
This brings Iron Man into a deep depression, which increases his alcohol intake. Through depression, Tony becomes violent and angry. His plan is now to destroy all other suits and blueprints of Iron Man.
Meanwhile, Rhodes thinks that the world needs a new Iron Man until Tony gets better, so he dons the prototype War Machine suit and goes after the villains himself.
Iron Man finds out where the 'Gremlin', as he is called, is hiding out, and the two begin to fight. It seems as if Iron Man isn't strong or quick enough to beat the opponent physically, so he plants a device within the suit to blow it up. This goes wrong, though, when Topolov dies within the suit.
Rhodes appears soon after to see a devastated Tony on the ground, crying over Gremlin's dead body. He demands that Stark quits being Iron Man for good in hopes of saving Tony's soul, but the millionaire thinks things differently. This leads to a short fight between the two, which ends with Tony passing out due to the alcohol effecting with his mechanical heart.
The police begin a search for Tony Stark, being given false plans by Hammer about Tony's plan to destroy the city.
When they get back to Tony's home, Pepper yells at Tony about what the alcohol is doing to him. Weak from the booze's effects, he realizes that they are right, and must stop the last two enemies orderly, and uncover this crime by Justin Hammer. However, it will take days for Iron Man to be back at full strength, so Iron Man and War Machine team up to take on Crimson Dynamo, the Beetle, and the recently recruted Spymaster, and finally uncover Justin Hammer's scheme.
At the end, Tony says to the press that he has passed his Iron Man mantle to someone else in hopes of avoiding any more issues. However, this is a lie, and he's still Iron Man.
Then, at the very end, we see the Mandarin watching from a television screen, smirking.

News just in: I heard on the radio this moring that Thor will be released in 2010 and Captain America is due out in 2011. There will also be an Avengers movie for sure, the date was not mentioned. Plus there will be more HULK films.

I heard this on the Adam Corolla show this morning during news with Teresa Strasser.
