Wow... at first I thought this story blew balls, but now that it's over...it's terrific! It was such a ravishing tale, that it ravished me! I can't see what all the fuss is about, with the whole story. I mean, Joey is just trying to bring Spidey back to the golden age. Back when he was young, and everything was cool.
he isnt young anymore.
making the same stories with an 25-30 year old man.....
i will pass spiderman for a while too, may be i will read
ultimate thats more interesting now.

Do people still remember that TV show Friends... (please do, so I don't feel old.)
By the end of that series I found the character Joey to be rather pathetic when compared to the other friends.
Monica and Chandler were married, and adopted children.
Ross and Rachel had a baby.
Phoebe was married and beginning to think about children.
They were all progressing through the relatively "normal stages of life."
Meanwhile Joey, ten years later, was still single, even more stupid than when the series started and still trying to bed women of the same age as when the series started. It worked when he was in his mid-twenties, mid-thirties it was just bleh.
That's sort of the impression I get about OMD/BND.
Single, unemployed, living with elderly relative may work for someone in their teens. But it doesn't for someone in their mid-to-late twenties. It's just plain sad.

How can we forget, they have re-runs every single day in a couple different channels. The only difference is that Peter doesn't get as many girls.
To further X's analogy, Joey in his spin off (also titled "Joey"😉, moved to a different town to essentially start a series with the same feel that "Friends" had when it started.
It felt like rehashed material that wasn't done as well and didn't have the same feel, partially because it was now around a mid/late thirties partier, instead of the mid-twenties character that helped to get Friends so much popularity.
It loses its feel, and that's what seems to be happening with Spider-Man. They need to work it and adapt, and they could have done so with Mary Jane.

Also, as one final comment-
It seemed almost pointless to have May take the bullet. If they were going to write out Mary Jane anyways (granted, she's still in the series, but hear me out), they should have had her take the bullet.
Parker could resign himself to his job in grief over her death, and then slowly overcome the sadness, but now as a completely solo Spider-Man, like how he began. Except that he's a changed character because of what he's been through, and he's older. It's just character progression, and Marvel would still have gotten their solo Spider-Man without the continuity mess.
Plus, Mary Jane would have had a more epic ending.

'New' redhead character in gaudy green costume? Bets on whether it's a) Mary Jane or b) the woman who just won't stay dead, Jean Grey. Imagine the latter, Spider-Man riding Phoenix all around the universe in more ways than one; now that will make for some exciting new stories that are fun for all ages.

She's got red hair, green eyes, is codenamed Jackpot, and apparently will refer to him as "Tiger." Which either makes it really obvious or a really big Red Herring.
