Indeed. I'm what is oft referred to as an Atheistic Agnostic, but it is important to have read the bible - if only for the literary work and not the 'message.'

Socially speaking, there are few books that could claim to have as large an influence as the Judeo-Christan Bible on the modern-day world. To better understand that influence, and to better understand the modern day world, it wouldn't be a bad idea.
