STAR WARS: RETROSPECTION- The Hunter

"I've no doubts about that..."

The Nobog Corporation is an organization based on the world from which it tooks its name, Ela Nobog. The Corporation is a legal front for a variety of different criminal activities, most notably in smuggling. It has operated as a legal business since Ela Nobog joined the Republic, around the time of the Great Hyperspace War, seven thousand years ago.

During the Clone Wars, the nefarious Count Dooku tried to convince them to join the Confederacy, but negotiations failed. The Nobog Corporation maintained a neutral status.

Just a few years ago, however, one man managed to unravel the criminal network of several thousand years' work in just a few days. It seems that Kyle Ragnor was one of their top smugglers but, due to some business deal gone wrong, they labeled him expendable. Surviving the incident, Kyle decided to inform the Galactic Empire of everything that the Nobog Corporation had been doing in recent years.

Several leaders of the Corporation were arrested, several put to death by order of the Emperor. It was not shut down, though, and still operates on the fringes of Imperial space, where Ela Nobog is located.

"Oh, I think I'm starting to piece together some ideas from what I'm digging up right now as I talk to you..."

Hah. So Snith's father was executed by the Empire after Kyle blew open their criminal dealings? Seems to me that Snith is here for revenge more than anything else.

One last thing to look up - do some digging on Kyle, see what Rylis can find about him.

Kyle Ragnor is a native of Ela Nobog, which explains why he was inducted into the Nobog Corporation. He became a smuggler with impressive piloting skills, winning much attention from the higher-ups.

When the Corporation tried to label him expendable, he tipped off the Empire and was exonerated for his crimes. However, he is wanted dead by the Nobog Corporation (obviously) and exiled from Ela Nobog, which has suffered economically since the near collapse of the Corporation.

He has since operated out of Nar Shaddaa.

Mind you, the files you are reading aren't straight out saying this. You are being forced to piece it together, bit by bit.

Yes, I assumed that'd be the case...

Well, if Makrus has nothing else to say, then Rylis is going to pester Snith.

Makrus has nothing further to add, though he says he'll make some inquiries about Snith, if he can.

What are you going to say to Snith?

"I want some questions answered before we go any further. Want to explain exactly why the bounty for Ragnor did not in any way mention I would be working with you? After all, that's a pretty big detail to leave out. Some people would shoot surprises like that on sight." Rylis asks Snith, for starters.

"Well, you didn't, did you?" Snith says. "Why the sudden skepticism? I told you why I'm here."

"Yeah? Maybe I don't buy your story. After all, it's not as though you actually have anything to back it up with." Rylis says. "And no, you really haven't told me why you're here. You said you're meant to take care of certain little things. But you never said what those things are."

"Look, can we talk about this later? I've finally pinpointed Kyle's location after he dropped out of hyperspace. I won't tell you where he is if you keep pressing. If you're lucky, I'll tell you when we get there."

"Fine, but you owe me some answers and I'm not going to forget about it, no matter how you try to dodge it. Now, where did he end up?"

"Sending the coordinates..."

Data appears on your navcomputer's screen, revealing the location of the tracking device and Kyle's starfreighter.

I'll give you a hint: it's in a binary system.

Is it the home of the wretched hive of scum and villainy? 😛

It is! Your navcomp registers a match as the coordinates indicated are to Tatooine.

"There you have it. Should we get going, then?"

"Sure, why not...one scumhole to the next."

"I know. I wonder why Tatooine, though."

You're actually wondering that yourself. Tatooine is crawling with bounty hunters. If you were on the run from the law, that is the last place you would go.

"Not important why he's there, of course. Just that he is. And so here we go..."

Your sensors indicate that the Cold Hard Wit has jumped into hyperspace.

Rylis will program the coordinates in and then also make the jump into hyperspace.

The Crimson Dawn breaks orbit and reaches the edge of Nar Shaddaa's gravitational field... and vwoosh! Off into hyperspace as the stars become blurred lines about your starship.

In the time that it takes to travel, you can have done some more in-depth research of Snithius Jr. Information about him is not readily available; you find Snithius Sr. far more often, mentioned for charitable works and his execution.

But you do manage to find another mention of Snith within an article about his father. Snithius Sr. expressed his pride over his son's graduation from the Imperial Academy on Carida.

...well, somehow you feel that doesn't explain why he's an incredible marksman.

No, certainly not, plus that fact is going to slip him even further down in regards to how much Rylis likes him...

He certainly doesn't carry himself like a soldier. Odd.

Well, he could have not gone into the military at all, or left it...or isn't who he's saying he is...

Just more things to pester him about when we land!
