STAR WARS: RETROSPECTION- The Hunter

"I suggest we split up," Snith says. "We'll cover more of the city that way, hit different parts of the town. I've got some contacts I can get in touch with that could help, but I'm sure you've got your own little pockets of information here... right?"

"I'm sure I'll be fine."

I'm actually not sure if Rylis would have any contacts there at all...

Not actual contacts, no, but you know places you can search.

Sweet. Well, Rylis will set off to the first of those locations.

Needless to say, these locations are all cantinas!

You hit the most well-known cantina in the area, known as Chalmun's Cantina. Upon entering, you are hit with catchy tunes of some cantina band before you see them.

The air is filled with chatter in hundreds of different languges coming from hundreds of different species, all crammed into booths and squatting at tables around the bar. The bar itself has very little room around it for anyone to squeeze in and grab their drink.

"Hey, no droids!" one of the patrons squawks at you.

"That's not a droid, you idiot," his companion says, slapping him upside the head.

"Oh..."

"What, you've never seen armor that's not pieced together out of bits of trash? Pitiful..." Rylis replies, rolling her eyes.

Start out by looking the place over, see if Rylis can recognize anyone...then make my way to the bar and ask the bartender if they've seen anyone looking like Kyle.

The bartender is a fat, greasy man who looks at you as if you spoke gibberish.

Well, that's helpful.

Maybe if I find someone there who's not drunk I might have better luck? 😛

The bartender isn't drunk, he's just a cynical bastard who hates all of his customers.

There are plenty of people talking secretively in booths or sipping their drinks around the bar that do not appear to be wasted.

Figured as such.

Rylis will find that appears to still be able to think and isn't in the middle of any sort of private conversation, then, to see if she can get any info.

It takes some searching and chatting, but there are only two people that you get a reaction out of.

The first is a Twi'lek in the employ of Jabba the Hutt. He says that Kyle comes to Tatooine occasionally, running missions between the Hutts in his ship, the Last Laugh. He hasn't heard of the smuggler's return, if he has come back. He also asks why you're looking for him.

The second is a human with a well-defined jaw, wearing a combat uniform. He seems nervous at your mention of Kyle, but responds that he hasn't seen him.

Hmmm, second guy is hiding something, I'm almost sure of it...

Well, if I'm not going to get anything more out of this place, move on to the next, I suppose...

Sorry, just giving your prey a chance to catch up...

Did you want to press the second man for anything else? He's portrayed by Adrian Pasdar, by the way.

Yes, actually, I think I will.

"What do you know of Ragnor?" Rylis asks him, wondering why he seems nervous.

"I've heard he's a pretty good smuggler," the man responds.

"When's the last time you've seen him, anyway?"

"Never met the guy." Whatever nervousness he experienced earlier is still there, but he's doing a much better job at covering it. You suspect he's not the social type.

"Never met him, huh? Well, thanks anyway."

Once you leave him alone, the man pointedly leaves the bar.

The Twi'lek is still curious why you're looking for Kyle, and makes it known that he recognizes who you are with compliments on your reputation.
