STAR WARS: RETROSPECTION- The Hunter

"Unavailable. He was promoted after the Battle of Renatasia, about three years ago. Must have done something really notable there to have all his disgressions ignored."

(how long ago was his father executed and stuff? I can't remember)

"Notable indeed...anything else, or is that it? I'm supposed to be making sure the comm systems are working while we get this ship flying so we can get out of the desert..."

You never got an exact date on that, but from what you researched of Kyle leaving the Nobog Corporation and blowing everything for them, you would place it... about three years ago.

"You know, 'promotion' could be a euphemism for execution. I mean, with all these demerits... one of them was for protesting Imperial actions. Maybe he tried going rebel? I heard the Rebellion is always looking for skilled folks. And all details of his career after 'promotion' are classified by Palpatine. Maybe the real Snithius is dead and you've got an impostor?"

"Have to have been one hell of a good impersonator, if that were the case. Though that is very interesting timing...you said that was three years ago? That's about the same time that Kyle blew open the Nobog Corporation. Same time Snith Senior was executed."

"How would you know what the real Snith was like, if this is not him?" Makrus asks.

"Good point...supposedly he attended his father's execution, and what he's told me definitely matches what we've found by digging around, but if he was an impersonator, of course he'd know that stuff..."

Makrus nods.

"Is he being of any benefit to your hunt?" he asks.

"Some. His tracker he planted on Kyle's ship is what led us here, and frankly, I don't have the technological skill to get this ship going again. Couple other little things he's helped with." Rylis says, not really wanting to mention the fact that she was nearly murdered.

"He's got his own reasons to be after Kyle and it's not worth my life to go into that right now..."

Makrus nods.

"I will try to look further into it," Makrus says. "Keep him around if he's still useful... but you watch yourself, alright? Will you be in Mos Eisley soon?"

"You know I will. And hopefully, my speeder was destroyed by Sand People so until we get this ship flying again we're stuck. I doubt I'll be in Mos Eisley long once we get back there, but I plan to head off planet as soon as I nab Kyle."

"Are you going for a live capture? I know killing isn't your style, but... this seems to be a special case. You didn't nab him the first chance you got, what's to say he won't dash off again?"

"I didn't get him the first chance I got because I wasn't expecting him to have a friend firing at me from inside a ship while I was on a walkway." Rylis replies, a bit snappily. "I was told he worked alone. And I'm not going to be trying to kill him, but I'm not going to hold back either."

"Keep that friend of his in mind, whomever he may be. The man has an ally, but so do you, no matter how questionable he is. Take advantage of it, have Snith be there when the confrontation goes down. Just don't let Snith take all the credit."

"Oh, he's already got what he came here for. I've got no worries that's not going to happen. I won't let it, for starters."

Makrus raises an eyebrow.

"He's not there for Kyle?"

"It's a...related issue."

"In what way?"

"Kyle had something on the ship that Snith was here to retrieve, and I'm not going to say anything more about it right now. But he's not interested in getting the credit for nabbing Kyle, or even any of the money."

"Curious indeed. I'm guessing either that's why the Corporation stuck him with you or that is why he doesn't want any of your money; either he's loyal or he's going to sell it."

"Seems to be the first, but could very likely be the second. Either way I don't trust him as far as I could throw him and will be glad when this is done with."
