How is that a copout, he was battling illusions and clearly wasn't in prime condition. A fanboy copout would be saying supes was fighting in peak condition and battling to the best of his abilities when clearly that wasn't the case. Why assume he was fighting WW with tactical precision when clearly he was out of his mind.....and we've already seem him handle better agaisnt much more powerful foes to conclude this was clearly a very low showing of what he is trully capable of.

But he was still capable of thinking tactically and intelligently in order to battle Doomsday/Diana. It isn't like he went at her not holding back but blindly swinging haymaker after haymaker without any real strategy to win the fight.

Actually that's pretty much what he was doing, he fought recklessly with no direction or aim...he was fighting like a mindless brute with no real purpose. It was a fight with heavy circumstances...it isn't viable in any serious manner considering it was during a time when supes was under extreme conditions of CIS.

Ugh. I'm not denying that he was in an illusion. I'm not saying that he fought to the best of his abilities. I wish you would argue on point. I already conceded this. Obviously he would have fought Diana differently had he known who he was fighting and she would have fought differently had she actually been trying to take him out.
You cannot, however, dismiss what happened in the fight ENTIRELY because of the illusion. It showed she could take some Supes damage and dish it back. That's all. Nothing ground-breaker or life-altering, now was it? This isn't the end-all-be-all fight.

Right, the fight proved WW could hold her own agaisnt a mind controlled supes.....really it isn't a good showing for either so why mention it.
