"Well, we're now part of this investigation. And I would be suprised if he could spare the officers for a manhunt about now."

Sky gives you a serious look.

"That would be overstepping our mandate and leaving the Diktat vulnerable," Sky says. "The Council would not approve."

"Isn't she vulnerable if we don't know what happened to our guy?" Sunda asks. She now gives him the look and he frowns back.

"There are more than one of us. We could split up. With the Dinkats and Gabriels permission of course."

"You know you've got mine," Gabriel says.

"It is not for you or the Diktat to decide!" Sky retorts. "Will you not hear me on that, Roan?"

"You must admit that Sunda has a point. We cannot only be only reactionary. If action needs to be taken, we should take it."

Sky folds her arms.

"Well then," she says. "Have it your way. I will stay with the Diktat. Remember what example you are setting for your student, Roan. It does not do well to overstep your boundaries. We've been here before, on Dordellus."

"We'll take a speeder over," Gabriel says. "We need to retrace Valru's steps. We'll go to the Jenet Elder first."

I nod and move to leave with Gabriel.

"Can I come, Master?" Sunda asks.

"Sunda, I dont know what I am getting into here, I want you to stay with Sky and help protect the Diktat."

"Aw, come on!" Sunda whines. "Waiting for something to happen won't help, you said so yourself!"

"Yes, but leaving the Dinkat unguarded is just as bad. That is why I need you to do this."

Sunda is off-put about being told to stay still. He is a headstrong youngling, Roan. Something you may have to work out of him.

"Fine," Sunda says. "I'll stay..."

He and Sky go to inform the Diktat of current events.

Gabriel is expecting trouble. He orders an armored speeder be made ready, and when you go to the Capital Building's garage you find one waiting. Gabriel has had the mounted repeater installed and the cargo compartment filled with equipment.

"Will you drive?" Gabriel asks. "I suspect I am a better gunner than you."

"Sure, I think you are right. Lets go."

Gabriel takes the gunners seat as you get under way.

The Jenet colony is outside of Coronet a fair distance. Soon you've left the glittering skyscrapers of the city behind in favor of a broad paved trading road. It takes you to a high hill that overlooks the Garban colony in a scene reminscent of Luke Skywalker's first look upon Mos Eisley. The colony itself is a massive shantytown- durable tents and scrap-metal huts all in close proximity. A fence borders the colony and contains it.

"Normally CorSec patrols the fence," Gabriel says, "but they've only got a small number of men to work with. It was our big task before the terrorist attacks started."

Gabriel hands you a pair of macrobinoculars and points out a larger structure in the center of the colony. It looks like a farmhouse.

"That is where the Jenet Elder resides," Gabriel says. "That is where we want to go."

"Well, lets go say hello."

You bring the speeder up to the colony, where a lone CorSec officer stands guard. He salutes you and hits the controls for the security gate. Once you are inside it closes behind you.

Here you receive your first glimpse of the Jenet. On their homeworld of Garban they were nomadic, never staying put, always on the hunt. Here they are cooped up and it shows. Most are wandering around the dirt paths between tents and huts, or sitting idle by the sides of the paths. They are humanoid in appearance and typically wearing traveling gear, meaning they look awkwardly overprepared for a simple walk through the streets. Many view you and your speeder with apathy. Something about their eyes unsettles you.

Gabriel has to guide you through a series of turns and twists along the streets- the speeder does not fit down all of them and the paths are confusing. No markings, no signs, nothing.

"The Jenet have no concept of architecture," Gabriel grumbles more than once.

You eventually reach the clearing beside the Corellian farmhouse that the Jenet Elder has been set up in. The speeder is approached by a handful of Jenet hunters, wearing brightly colored sashes and carrying an assortment of scoped rifles.

"Welcome," one greets. "Why have you come?"

"We have come to speak to the Jenet Elder."

"You come in your war-wagon," he says. "Why?"

"We come in peace, but these are harsh times. There have been many attacks."

"You speak of your... terrorists, is the word," he says. "You dress strangely. You are not CorSec."
