EVANGEL94's Final Slugfest Tournament Discussion Thread: Questions, Comments, & Talk

Started by DigiMark00776 pages

If it was a clear exploit, it was approved before the tournament, during drafts when I said exactly what I'd be doing, and also in my earlier matches. Someone pre-tourney said that this tournament would be about finding legal loopholes. I found one, and then was punished for it unfairly.

Don't act smug Joey, it just lowers peoples' opinions of you. As it is, our match was nothing but me trying not to lower myself to your constant whining and disrespect toward anything I said that disagreed with you...pretty much like every warning you've ever had from about 4 different mods. If you want to laugh at my misfortune, feel free to do so, but don't pretend like it makes you anything more than less of a man.

I'll co-sign what Blair said. I told Evangel exactly what I would be doing and it was approved...I could even post the PM where I explained that Doctor would be creating Reed and Lex's tech, but there's not much point when it's been publicly posted as well. It was only once my plans were shown to be more powerful than others, or enough people complained about it (likely some combination of the two) was the rule changed.

Also, by this rule goober's plan would also be invalid, since an adaptoid robot is "tech", so I'm happy in a backward way for him that he left before his similarly clever plan was invalidated (though I certainly am NOT happy about the circumstances which made him leave).

As it is, I won't argue the rule change, and will just bow out of the tournament. Since I made my drafts based on the earlier rules, my team is now far too handicapped to continue. I wish the best of luck to the remaining competitors who have earned my respect, either as tourney competitors or as KMC members.

Some people take these things way too seriously 😂

but that explains your improved quality in debate.

On the contrary, if I took it more seriously, I might fight for the rule to be changed back. But my KMC experience is about having fun, and such a protracted argument would be anything but. It's only people like yourself who continually belittle others and laugh at them (or, in this case, make assumptions about their demeanors that they no clear way if discerning) that truly lessen the experience.

Then why not stay in the tourney? You still have the Doctor and Thor?

Honestly if that wasn't an exploit in the first place I would have just drafted a Forge/Mr.M amalgam + prep and annihilated the tourney.

Considering InstantTech only requires 6 points that would have been possible.

Alright Tournament Participants.,

I've heard your [b]multiple complaints and arguments (you know who you are) citing the use of matter manipulation to create super advanced technology as a violation of the instant technology purchase.

Originally, I allowed inoragnic matter manipulation as a weapon or tool to be used in prep and the battle. I thought it would be used for those who wish to transmute rocks into metals and primitive weapons, or those who wanted to transmute an enemy's armor and weapons into something else. But clearly in practice this is not what has happened. I've heard what you said repeatedly to me about the matter, and I cannot in good conscious allow matter manipulation to be used to create super advanced technology.

Therefore, from now on, matter manipulation cannot be used to create super advanced technology (unless you purchased the instant tech ability). I apologize in advance to which this ruling affects. However, I am sure you can use inorganic matter manipulation as an offensive and defensive weapon rather than a prep based tool

Wait so we can't us inorganic matter manip at all during prep? 😕

If so then yeah my team is kinda pointless since a good chunk of my strategy is now illegal

So if that is the case I'm out as well

No you just can't use it to create complex technology unless you can prove that the team can put it together in the time alloted.

Changing rules mid tourney is crap. Nuff said.

So if Digi is indeed dropping out, does Papa go straight to the semi-finals or how does this work now?

We should probably put everything on hold for a bit and hammer out exactly what the rules mean before this continues.

Maybe we should just declare Papa Smurph the winner and be done with it. g_grin
