I agree they should have introduced her earlier on, but the way they executed it still was really well done imo, I have rewatched that scene many times, it still gets to me, perhaps its just me? I could just feel the attachment between Dom and Maria, especially when it was happening, you could tell how hurt he was, his confusion, etc. I dunno, either way, I really liked it. I felt it was better done then Johnsons's who got shot with some beam by 343...ooooh...dramatic...

Its like, "Hey your a new character...and now your dead 🙄 . Hm, awkward."

If they wanted emotion they should have introduced her earlier. Or hell to really get at Dom they should have made her the Locust Queen.

On a side note, I'm just surprised so many of you are gullible. Even if she was sane do you think she could have gotten out of there alive anyway. She was doomed from the get-go.

Really? I thought Johnson's death was much more of an impact and I don't even care for Halo. Maria's death was...I dunno, when I saw it I wasn't emotionally affected. After thinking about it I took more from it but still...

Dom's wife had been more relevant to the story had she been introduced earlier in the series. To introduce and kill the character within three hours apart really doesn't build a strong emotional attachment or bond with the character. Hell, no one gives a damn about someone they just met.

And what was that really? The main plot? Sub plot? Theres no direction in Gears's story and that's why I'm not a fan. Its practically just like another sequel, "The Lost World: Jurassic Park" No solid plot, just a lot of running and screaming.....

Nobody gives a damn about an anonymous space marine in a green suit. It might as well have been Santa.

You're just super bothered that people here found that scene to me more emotional than anything in Halo 3.

You're just bothered that not everyone here agrees with you, and for good reason. Nothing you've said is anything better than fanboyisitic lack of acceptance.

Im pretty sure the guy above you agrees with me, and I can tell that by your petty insults you running out of credible responses.

You refer to Halo as not too difficult or too clever... yet you are defending Gears of War 2? The game in which you can take down a boomer just by standing in one spot and firing the lancer? And this is on the hardest mode they allow you to start the game on.
Spoiler:
You are defending a game who's story ends essintially the same way as it's predecessor. Instead of dropping the lightmass bomb, and killing the locust... they flood them and kill them... yet they survive... both times...
Yes, that is very clever.

They sure as hell picked the most appropriate song for the TV add, DeVothKa's "How it ends." The lyrics say it best, "You already know how this will end...." Hmm, its like some kind of warning 😉

Such hate.

Yeah, once you become accustomed to the flow of the game, Gears becomes very easy but that can be said about any game. I fail to understand AC's analogy when comparing the Harry Potter films to the Halo games. A game doesn't have to be hard to be enjoyable. Neither Gears nor Halo have a great balance when it comes to difficulty. For the most part, i would say that both games are generally easy with a few exceptions of frustrating difficulty but the difficulty is usually always overcome with trial and error.

I don't fault FPS games when they are fairly easy because i know that, in gaming, one of the hardest aspects is integrating successful difficulty progression. Most games solve this by simply allowing the enemies to take more damage and forcing you to take less. Those games...,well, i just don't play those games because that is the laziest form of game design when it comes to making a game difficult and is also very aggravating. So, when an FPS is fairly easy, i accept it because it shows, atleast they didn't just make the enemies impossible to kill to make the game harder.

What a genuine tool. Seriously.

Never before have I seen such a slave to Bungie's advertising.

Wow, if that's all you've got left.....

Not really a joke, I truly believe this guy must work for the Master Chief fanclub or something.

You still haven't answered the question in the other thread, please stop dodging.

Yes, it was actually a pun, and go read now....

Wow...
