1) This is god damn bs. I've rummaged through the Batman respect thread and another respect thread dedicated to his training and I've found nothing that actually says Batman has mastered all 127 martial arts. There is only one actual scan on point, which shows he is able to impart basic knowledge of the 127 styles, read the 3rd panel carefully where the disc imparts the basics of yaw-yan and then completely ends. Seems like the advanced techniques of yaw-yan have been left out, makes you wonder if advanced techniques were left out of the rest of em:

2) And then two handbook references, the first which states he learned all 127 styles (credit to thedarknite84):
"There are 127 major style of combat. While abroad, Bruce learned them all, from Aikido to Yaw-Yan. His knowledge of so many varied disciplines has made Bruce an unconventional and Unpredictable opponent, quite capable of countering a Savate kick with a Caporeira dodge, than Kayoing with a paw-knuckle strike!"
3) And this reference which states he has mastered virtually mastered all forms of combat. Firstly, f'ing virtually means almost all or nearly, NOT all. And forms of combat isn't even necessarily martial arts! It could be knife fighting or pistol dueling?! I mean the damn Punisher has a level 7 fighting skill rating in the Marvel Handbook which is defined as "Master of all forms of combat," which is better then even THIS language:

Someone direct me to a god damn scan or even a quote from a damn handbook that says he mastered all 127 martial arts. Because you know what? Having learned taekwondo DOES NOT mean I mastered taekwondo. Being able to tutor a class in basic taekwondo DOES NOT mean I mastered taekwondo. And mastering virtually all forms of combat necessarily means that you HAVE NOT mastered ALL of them.
And just for the record, I've gone through an extensive search for this and came up with no less then 10 threads going through the same god damn arguments and STILL, no ACTUAL mention of him mastering all 127 styles in those threads. This supposed mastery of 127 styles is beginning to smell like a myth. Thedarknite84? Juntai? King_Mungi? What the frak?
you bring up a good point. I can't see batman pulling a capoeira move nor a 540 degree TaeKwonDo maneuver.seems totaly out of character.
but i must say, comic artists aren't the most "physically active" guys, maybe they simply don't know how to draw it.
black panther seems to DISPLAY more knowledge of the fighting arts than batman does come to think of it.
and batman might want to take off the cape when he fights, they tend to get in the way. thats why bp's is short when he wears one
