Plus, are people really under the assumption that beings with the intelligence and attention spans of rocks stood there and watched him build the city for hours? Hell, I guess it takes one of them hours to say "It am awful" also, am I right?God dammit, use a little common sense here. Like Avlon said, this is quite simple and obvious.
All these desperate excuses on Thor's behalf are hilarious.
Would people with the intelligence of Rocks sit around and watch someone building a city for hours. Yeah I think they would Batdude. Well he would have said that comment after Superman had gotten done which would mean hours later.
Oh I'm all about common sense batdude but if people are gonna sit here and say Thor blocking speedsters attacks are ambiguous cause they offer no speed only artistic renditions. Then Superman will get the same treatment, and his city building feat has no discernible time frame therefore I'm going to assume the worst case and say it took him hours upon hours upon hours to build the city.
Prove me wrong by showing where in the comic it said he built a city in seconds. 😉

Agreed. Just like he does when he fights Gladiator, who I might add, is quite stronger, faster and more powerful than Superman, and Thor had no problems with.
Batdude you can zip it at any moment. Gladiator fought Classic Thor and this thread is not about Thor at that power level. here read this, it's Odin's Power.... this one is for the genius named Batdude.
[edit] Powers and abilities
Odin possesses all the conventional attributes of an Asgardian god, such as enhanced strength; durability and immunity to all known diseases.
Odin is capable of manipulating magical energy - referred to as the Odin Power - for a number of purposes, such as endowing people or objects with powers; [16] transporting the entire human race to an alternate dimension; [17] compressing the population of an entire planet into a single being, the Mangog; [18] taking a soul away from the arch-demon Mephisto; [19] and destroying entire galaxies. [20] Odin is not, however, all-powerful. Once a year, he needs to undertake the Odinsleep - a state of deep sleep lasting for a day in which the OdinPower is recharged. During this time Odin is guarded closely as he is vulnerable. [21]
In battle Odin often carries the magical spear Gungnir ("The Spear of Heaven"😉, an artifact made of the metal uru, that he uses to channel his personal energies. Odin is also a master tactician and schemer. In addition to feats such as preventing Ragnarok, [22] it has been revealed that Odin was planning for the arrival of the Celestial Fourth Host for centuries. [23]
Note that it says that he has the power to soul destroy. You people that are backing Superman need to take a moment to rethink this. Thor is as far above Superman, as Superman is above Wonderman. Thor was also seen years ago ripping Loki's sould from his body.

And you and I debating would be like these two battle-rapping.

Which is why I'm much more comfortable laughing about replies on both sides of the arguement, and making an occasional sarcastic remark.
You're the best man, you did it.

The statement wasn't aimed at you. Batdude implied that a few statements went over my head, I just decided to kill two birds with one stone, so to speak. You were just caught in the crossfire.

Way to take my statement out of context. I also said "and the attention span" of rocks.
Reading comprehension ftw.

You mean despite the fact that most of them truly are ridiculously ambiguous? And you mean despite the fact that more evidence suggests Thor isn't fast in combat?
I see people referencing Thor's battles with Silver Surfer and Gladiator as reasons why Thor can deal with Superman's speed. Yet, the only time Thor has been legitimately blitzed was by Gladiator, and he got his ass kicked. Thor had to resort to outside interference to defeat him, and that was only after Glads stopped his assault.

I'm glad logic triumphs once again in your posts. 👆
Anyway, the feat was done within a single panel. Even conversations take longer than a single panel, and the default time frame between panels on a page is usually no longer than a couple of seconds, unless stated otherwise.
These excuses are ridiculously hilarious.

Lulz.
If anything, you're the one who would need to provide any kind of evidence that suggests the time frame was hours, considering you're the one making such baseless and outlandish claims.

Hulk posess NO speed whatsoever...
yeah but hulk has blitz several cosmic characters even the surfer it doesn't mean anything. supes has ben punched and kicked by mongul who suppostly "doesn't possess NO speed whatsoever" as well.

Wow. Thanks for reminding me of why I have him on ignore. Those are so bad that I can't imagine him being serious about this at all.

Okay, Hulk has NEVER blitzed Surfer. Don't know how you came up with that one.
And actually, Mongul does have super speed. However, he hasn't been able to defeat, let alone compete with Superman for YEARS. Bad example.

I would like to see where in the comic industry it says that just cause something happens in one panel means that equates to it happening in seconds. Could you please show me this BD I'd very much like to see that document. 😉
As to the rest of your post I don't see you referencing where it says he built a a city in seconds so I guess you can not.

You mean THIS guy? Mongul does have superspeed as well.
🙂 He was embarrassed.

I agree with never been able to defeat supes but during infinit crisis he took a really pissed off superman blow and got up from it and you could even say he blits supes and wonderwoman in the fight. oh and show me one scan of him runing around a planet at light speed because that's all you except when it comes to marvel characters. Bias much neither mongul nor hulk has speed to compair to top teir characters but they beat them all the time. It's comics.

you know why it happened in seconds...instead of showing a city slowly being built...it basically showed an entire city appearing in 2 panels...that supports the inference that Superman built it in seconds

You're right. I wanna say this heat vision blast took about.... oh... six or seven hours to reach the guy.

I mean, no time frame was specifically given, even though it DID happen within the span of a panel.
I'm teh smarterest!!!11 🙁

Ignoring = desperation = you can't even respond.
Still waiting for the evidence suggesting it took Superman hours to build the city.
Honestly, that's about as justified as my above statement.

Originally posted by Master-BorgInferences mean jack. Silver Surfer was shown as a blur which infers superspeed, but since according to most Superman supporters in this thread means that since a specific speed was not given therefore the speed at which SS was going in null in void.

Therefore Superman's city building, which also does not give a quantifiable account of the event falls under the same treatment. Meaning that since no time was given I can substitute how long I think it took him.
So it took him hours 😉

No one alleged that the feat was 'null and void.'
You see, most posters have this little thing chilling in our heads called common sense.
In the Surfer scenario, there's no reason to believe the Surfer was going any faster than a few mach - meaning that, while an impressive reaction feat for Thor, it's meaningless when compared to Superman's combat speed.
In the city-building scenario, there's no reason to believe that hours had passed.
You're upset because you've absolutely no excuses left. We understand.
Doesn't mean you need to act like a moron.

So that scan says that every panel in every comic book in every industry must equal a couple of seconds? I must have missed where it said that BD would you like to point me to it.
Ignoring what the fact you can not show me on panel where it says Superman built a city in seconds.
And yes my claim of him taking hours to build a city is just as justified as yours thank you for realizing that. 🙂
