Sex-Positive Feminism
but a person who has actually read about feminist points of view on most major social issues would atlest be able to give his oppinion on whether the majority of feminists would oppose or accept the porn industry. im not a law student, but i do take sociology as a subject, so my oppinion does count for sumthing.{btw, you can also find christians who beleive that beleif in miracles in blasphemous for so and so reasons, does that mean that the majority of christians belieive the same?}

Because it's a dirty disgusting degrading industry to some of them. But their opinions matter a whole lot less than those actually working in it.
I'm not sure that explains it, as everyone who works in the industry is clearly of repugnant moral standing.
Right? I've never seen porn. My hard drive is 100% pure. You could birth an angel on my hard drive.
^i am not calling workers in the sex industry immoral. please, for heaven's sake i have nothing against pornstars. i DO have sumthing against the forces which influence them to get there{again collectively, not individually as there are always individual differences} and the people who CONTROL the industry{i.e. directors/financiers/producers etc etc}. its the ACTION of the industry on its workers that i find wrong. it has nuthing to do with immorality or sumthing being DIRTY.
Have you read anything that other people have posted? WOMEN have the control over what they are willing to do and who to do it with. They control the industry, which has been in said numerous posts you choose to ignore.
And what "forces" influence? Most do it for money or because they love what they are doing. Is that suddenly evil?

The fact is this: Feminist are automatically going to disapprove of anything with women being portrayed in a sexual manner. They are not human rights activists who are going specifically to what is considered "off the wall" porn. Feminists will not approve of a woman showing that much skin, period.
So duh, from the feminisits view, it doesn't work.
It's like constantly addressing a militant black man as ******. No shit he won't like it.

What about people like Tera Patrick and Jenna Jameson who are successful, and richer, than a lot of people in the industry?
These women do it cos they want to do it. Why are you giving them sympathy?

They may not think that turning people on and having them jack off to you necessarily makes them a piece of meat, and so it's not degrading.
You can dress porn up all you want, but in the end, it's just someone masturbating to you. And then when you're used up, you'll be tossed aside for someone else, who will be masturbated to.
Yes, and they're looked at as people when people jerk off to them - women, hot women. Guys aren't like "oh, look at that piece of meat, oh, look at that spare-rib, mmmm". They're still people, and they're just ****ing on screen. Not necessarily degrading, no matter how much you think it is, doesn't mean that it is to anyone other than yourself.

They might not think that. Just like I might not think that having someone poop in my mouth is degrading. (I do, though.) It doesn't make it any less degrading. You can dress porn up all you want, but in the end, it's just someone masturbating to you. So, you're issue with porn is that there is no personal connection between the person jerking off and the person to whom they are jeking off?
I would imagine that is part of the appeal for the middle-aged man who has been married to the same woman for 30 years. No doubt you'd consider that cheating, though.

Degradation is subjective, dependent on the person who is or is not being degraded.

I write erotica on the side. If someone gets off on something I write that's great that (that's the point) even if they never read another word of my stuff. Hell I don't even get paid.
