Yep. There'd be no point in luring Logan if cannon fodder vamps could do the job and turn him.

Xorn was / is a completely different character.

It's not like the lowly pelbs knew that what the plan was. He didn't say go out there and die in scores... but don't try to win! The fodder has no idea what is going on, they are just there try their best to die.

Don't you find it odd that not one vamp landed one attack? When Logan fought a low-level vamp in issue #1 he had a harder time with the single vamp than he did with the whole hord that was attacking him? It's not like a vamp won't take one for the team hence the suicide bomber from issue #1.

it's a mix between both, i mean Xarus knew it would be difficult to turn Wolverine, he also wasn't sure he could turn wolverine. So he needed to lure him to his compound where he could get Wolverine in captivity and see if Wolverine could be turned.

That's why you see the less skilled vampires going after Wolverine, very interested to see Wolverine leading the army, and how he gets turned back.
