Red Skull Confirmed as Captain America Villain
If they went with the early version we saw in Ultimates, I would be fine with that. Let the suits evolve, just like the Iron Man suits with Tony Stark.
You can see how now regular 616 Marvel has started to incorperate parts of the Ultimate design in Captain America: Reborn - with the boots and the helmet, instead of a cowl. A helmet makes more sense - even once he gets into modern times.

Just a rumor
That would mean playing Captain Kirk, Jack Ryan in the coming reboot, and Steve Rogers. Would Chris Pine really stretch himself over three franchise roles at the same time?

Like to know how this movie is gonna turn outwith what Joe Johnston did with The Wolfman.
Yes, well...in a perfect world, this gets directed by Steven Spielberg, who's the great WWII auteur. Instead we have a former protege of Spielberg & George Lucas. Some of his films are pretty good; The Wolfman is probably his low point. But we have to believe Marvel Studios is doing the right thing - because we have no choice.

Apparently, some actor named Robert Buckley may be the insider choice.
Who are the Contenders for Captain America?
Source:Heat Vision
February 24, 2010
Heat Vision is reporting that John Krasinski, Michael Cassidy, Patrick Fluger, Scott Porter, Mike Vogel and Chace Crawford are contenders for Marvel Studios' The First Avenger: Captain America. Test screening is taking place this week for one of the actors to play Steve Rogers/Captain America in the comic book adaptation. The site says:
Those known to be on the list with Krasinski include Michael Cassidy (who appeared in"Smallvile" and who tested for the Superman movie when McG was going to direct it), Patrick Fluger (one of the stars of "The 4400" who most recently appeared in the Tobey Maguire movie "Brothers"😉, Scott Porter (TV's "Friday Night Lights"😉 and Mike Vogel ("Cloverfield"😉
Chace Crawford is also in talks to screen test, although no deal has been made.
Garret Hedlund was also on the list to test but has fallen off, at least for now, due to his reps and the studio's inability to make a deal.
The studio has put the actors on 30-day holds during the testing process.
This does not necessarily mean that one of the actors will land the role, as it took the studio several rounds of tests before they found Chris Hemsworth for Thor. Joe Johnston will direct the film, which Paramount Pictures will distribute on July 22, 2011.
They did a great job of introducing the captain america program thing in the reboot of the hulk.
just as long as it's not some dorky guy with a motorcycle helmet it should be ok.

none of those people are steve/cap, so i hope this has a great story to offset those choices.. but it would be nice if those choices are a smokescreen for either chris pine or sam worthington
If it is Sam Worthington, I hope he can do a better accent than that voice he used for Avatar. He sounded like a trenchcoat private detective from some pulpy thriller.
