The First Avenger: Captain America

Wow, haven't been on here in a looong time. I just heard about the casting of Chris Evans as Cap, and I wanted to get some feedback from the most informed comic fans I know.

Let me preface this by saying I actually like Evans, and thought he was one of two cast members that worked well in F4. I don't have a problem with him as an actor, or with his physical appearance. However, and maybe this is just me being OC, but I can't get around the fact that he is Johnny Storm, and will be playing two very important characters in the same "Universe".

I'm sure once production starts, and I see him in action my attitude will change, but as of now it just bothers me a bit.

I was surprised when I heard about that, too. I didn't think Marvel would want the same actor playing two of their characters, but it seems they don't mind.

I have always thought that William Sadler would make a great Red Skull.

From Gossip Girl to Bucky

So...Sebastian Stan as Bucky. OK - I don't feel positive or negative about that.

Even though i think Kevin Mckidd would make the perfect Cap. I'm happy with the casting with, Chris Evans. Now we just have to see the costume. I'll be happy as long as they keep the red white and blue and modernize it a bit. The wings really really need to go. Cap would be in my top five favorite heros if it werent for those goofy ass wings on his head

If Weaving is Skull, I'm up for it.

I won't be convinced of Chris Evans unless he convinces me. I don't think that he has anything in him to provide a stellar performance, which is what this needs. He might be, at best, a good Cap.

Why is Bucky the same age as Steve?

If there is, it would be a young Samuel Jackson.

Maybe there's an opportunity to tie in the stories of Ultimate Nick Fury with what we saw in Captain America: Red, White & Black. That Fury was an early test subject for the super soldier program, and got virtual immortality.

Maybe by the time Captain America is in modern times - in the Avengers or his second film - they could cast Alice Eve as Sharon Carter, instead. 👆
