Hugo Weaving is a damn fine actor, he just may steal the film from Klein

You mean (Chris) Evans, right?

He will be great, but part of what makes villains so memorable is that we kind of like them. Red Skull is one of the most hateful people in the world - he doesn't really engender fans or admirers. At least Joker is insane; RS is just the worst kind of Nazi.

yeah I meant Evans

RS is supposed to have the better actor and role.

You got that backwards, Buddy.

What makes a villain great is how evil he can really be. In fact, that WAS the main appeal of Heath Ledger's Joker (that he was actually downright evil rather than just being SO crazy like in most portrayals) and it's a big reason why Skull himself is one of Marvel's most iconic villains.

Did you confuse Chris Evans with Chris "Nash" Klein? That makes me happy hehe.

I actually really don't like Red Skull. And not in a "love to hate" kind of way. I remember first seeing him in the old 90's Spider-man cartoon and thinking "Who's this stupid looking guy with no powers and doing the same thing Kingpin did but without cool giant spider robots, cool hide out, and occasional Goblin appearances?" Now when I see him I think "****... what do you want now?"

The big difference there is that the source of everything the Joker does, is his belief that nothing matters, so do anything you like. That's a nihilist point of view. While Red Skull does have a philosophy based on racial superiority and being power mad. He's more in line with Emperor Palpatine rather than Darth Vader. So his performance won't be like the Jack-Nicholson-Joker-is-more-entertaining-than-Michael-Keaton-Batman type (if done right.) He'll be a great villain, but not the kind that hijacks a picture.

That's a B.S. story, slandering the filmmakers because they are shooting in England. Was it that slow a news day?

quite possibly...

i personally have know idea if it's true or not.....i just felt it was worthy of posting about and seeing what everyone else thinks of it.

I didn't think it was worth reporting in yahoo news. I'm actually more surprised when films are done at the location they take place.

Tommy Lee Jones Confirmed for Captain America

That's awesome! I'm assuming Weaving is playing Red Skull. I sure hope Evans is up to the task of portraying Marvel's greatest character.

I hope Jones does better than his Two Face role. I think they might use Jones as the body/face and Weaving as the voice over.

What?

Jones is playing General Phillips.

looks good

Nice. Kind wish they'd just done the stripes normally but not a big deal. Really just hope the shield is done right and his hair is blonde for the film. That very important to the characterization to me!
