Looks like you didn't read the comments right. The complaint was that he wasn't shown or mentioned to have done ANY training. Your blowing what was said way out of proportion.

True they didn't show enough of Cap's training. My guess is with the quick glimpses of him going into various battles was probably meant to clue people in on that he did in fact train, and to still lead other soldiers probably excelled as well. With the comicbook movies there is always an element missing whether it be with the dark knight where they didn't show him doing any type of detective work and he is suppose to be DC's greatest detective. Even with Sam Raimi's spiderman where Peter is suppose to be a science whiz but they hardly touch on that. The only comicbook movie where i would say they mirrored the comicbook close to perfection is with Iron man. But anyway the way they portrayed Steve in the Cap movie makes it clear why he is the first avenger. I meaned if it wasn't for Cap at least in that universe then there would be no hulk or iron man. It also makes sense if he hopefully leads the avengers, why they would be willing to follow him.

You people need to join the Military.I was in the Army for 5 years, and in basic training (which Cap completed in this movie if you payed any attention at all), they teach you how to shoot handguns and rifles, how to do hand to hand combat as well as Pugil stick training, how to throw grenades with accuracy, how to run and march and drill and ceremony....etc...
So for anyone to say "He didn't do enough training" uh...do you really want to watch a movie about basic training or do you want to watch Captain America?
First of all, thank you for your service. I really appreciate everything you did/do. 😄
With that said, can you take on dozens of military soldiers, throw a shield with precise accuracy as to bounce off walls, hit people, and then have it return to you, shoot a handgun while running and shoot down several soldiers? This is who Cap is, an expert in various forms of martial arts and military tactics. It's an integral part of his character, and all we're saying is it would've been nice to see him train for some of it before just "being able" to do it.
As I previously said, other than that, I really enjoyed the movie.

They did touch on it.
Remember the scene where he takes the bullet out of the wall, then gets the print from it?

Thats just it dude, BASIC training. 😂 Cap is a goddamn super human. They wouldnt want to find out the limits of his capabilities? They wouldn't like to know just how fast he could run....how much he can endure....,how strong he really is? I know i wanted to know. Also he was being groomed to be a super soldier not a basic soldier.

Never been tested on that. I could hold my own.

throw a shield with precise accuracy as to bounce off walls, hit people, and then have it return to youNO ONE CAN DO THAT. It is physically impossible. This is a comic people. It's not real, therefore expecting to see training on throwing shields should not be mandatory.
, shoot a handgun while running and shoot down several soldiers?Yes, I received several training ranges of that sort. Shooting on the move, live-fire
This is who Cap is, an expert in various forms of martial arts and military tactics.I also received martial arts training, though alot of that came in AIT

I'm satisfied with what they put into the time allotted. Honestly I think people are being WAAAAY to critical.

I enjoyed most of Captain America. However, several of the visuals looked like they were made for TV quality (like him swinging from a rope in slow motion, or flying through the air on his motorcycle). I also didn't like the 3 minute montage of him and his squad taking over Hydra's bases. Otherwise, was pretty solid, and I liked it a little more than Thor.

Movie was ok. The action went from brilliant to cheesy. Its unfortunate though that most of the brilliant scenes were during bad montages. I also didn't like how there was no real connection built between Cap and his team. My other complaint is that i never really felt like Cap was as legendary as he is supposed to be. i also could have used some scenes of Cap training with his new abilities rather than him dancing on stage. It wasnt until the last twenty minutes of the movie that he started doing extraordinary feats and actions. All this aside its still a really really good B movie. Shame because the acting was very good. 6/10As for the comic book movies this summer. I think its apparent that X-men won.
Xmen 8/10
Thor 6/10
Green lantern 6.5/10
Captain america 6/10Fun summer none the less.
I agree with some of those problems as well.

I think he put Thor above GL, but accidentally (presumably) gave GL a higher rating. He only put GL above Cap.
Not seen Cap yet, (it's out this weekned over here) but I seriously doubt its anywhere near as bad as GL. But I don't expect it to be in Thor's league either.

I wouldn't presume to know what I would think if the movie had been 5 minutes longer. Especially, since I stayed through 15 minutes of credits to see a 5 second clip of the Avengers. 😬
Secondly, how am I being overly critical when I've said, on multiple posts, THE ONLY thing I would've liked to see was some sort of training? Other than that, I really enjoyed the movie.
Originally posted by nimbus006I didn't say you would cry if the movie were longer. I said people in general. Look at all the flack Transformers got. People don't like long movies. I dunno why but they don't. I like getting my money's worth. So if I can watch a 3 hour movie compared to a 2, I'd do it; as long as the quality isn't harmed.

I didn't say YOU were being overly critical. I said people in general. And by that I mean with what the director had to work with (Turning scrawny Steve into Cap, Having him go through training, having him sell bonds, having him actually start to fight, battling Hydra, beating Red Skull, being rediscovered, getting primed for Avengers), I think the movie did a great job in the time allotted.

Originally posted by jinXed by JaNxThis is my main gripe with the film. Thor is a superhuman of vast proportions and abilities. You can see how it'd look difficult to portray action scenes in a live-action film. Same with Green Lantern. But Captain America should be done easily.

I thought the shield scene was ok but could have been better. Most of the actions scenes were too cheesy for me.
