Just saw it. Very well done, better than Thor or Green Lantern, IMO. The movie was excellently paced, Weaving made a fun Red Skull (though I suspect he peaked as Agent Smith); and while I still think Evans did a better job with Johnny Storm, the Torch was a one-note character. Cap is much richer texture, and Evans hit the nail right on the head at times.
The selflessness of the character reminded me a lot of Superman.

I've already taken my film classes. 😎
Green Lantern is cut together like it was made by a 9th grader using Final Cut Pro for the first time. It's not really subjective, the movie is mess, one of the worst monstrosities to ever grace the silver screen. The only excuses for liking Green Lantern, is it is the only movie you've ever seen.

I've taken film classes as well, still give GL a 6. And don't say I wasn't paying attention! 😠
You weren't. 😉
The way the movie flows and was cut together with the abrupt scene transitions there seems like there was a good chuck cut from GL, and I wouldn't be surprised if we get a director's cut Blueray that is much better then the theatrical release. It's really frustrating because a lot of the problems with movie could have been fixed in edit and a week or two of cheep re-shoots to build sympathy for Peter Skarsgard before he was infected. A five minute scene of Hector Hammond getting ridiculed by his colleges for his theories and work, and some more back ground on his history with Hal and Carol (which from the flow of the movie feels like those are scenes they have by cut) would have made the character arc much more sympathetic. There would have needed to be significant re-writes for it to have been a good movie, but it wouldn't have taken much to have made it decent.
Srank's right.
Hector Hammond was more a pitiable character than Hal, and his transition from a man with no inherent evil or even bad qualities personality-wise to some deranged villain was rushed. Sinestro was consistently portrayed as being more heroic than Hal, who wasn't "fearless" enough for my liking. From what I remember, several significant scenes had been cut as I sure don't recall them in the film.
Of course Sinestro was more heroic, he has been a GL far longer than Hal. Hal was coming into his own and punked Sinestro at the end and beat Parallax all by himself. Sinestro was crying that there should be a fear ring, when Hal used a regular GL ring.
Still pretty entertaining and looking at Blake Lively didn't hurt at all. 😎

The most disappointing thing is that it was based off the fantastic Green Lantern Secret Origin... and yet the movie didn't bother to bring over and of the fantastic Sinestro and Hal relationship.

I have not seen GL yet, but every one else seems to agree it's a trainwreck 😐
I'm still gonna see it whenever I can...

whether it be a sequel or reboot, i believe there will be another gl movie. wb needs more heroes at the box office, since potter is gone.
At least Captain America was fun and the storytelling was really good. It's reviewing higher than Thor, but both were great.
