Well, letting swap one power really constitutes big change, Ush?After consideration I am happy with your conversion of Gallador, because most of powers I questioned at first glance are prerequisites for others, the ultimate price being completing the Dark Side tree, with temptation and corruption. But it is very costly route, requring all Living Force Powers and most of Cosmic Force. Rand, on the other hand, will have big trouble getting it, as I see after rereading rules.
Will buying more powers be connected to increasing Force Poo, XP wise?
...I'm not even going to respond to that here. That's hardly fair to yell at me like that on here.
(and the only thing I said before is that I'd've rather have skills than Force powers, since skill increases was what I was going to use my xp on before the system switch if I was going to give up on a saber increase.)
No-one has come through the system exactly the same. Though you ARE extremely similar, and conceptually identical. But I had to make compromises with everyone. There was no question of allowing players to make their own characters, first of all because it could bugger up plotlines based on bow they already were, and secondly because it is extremely abusive to create a character that you can then spend experience on (not to mention that we don't even have a proper xp system yet; I was trying to get the game started asap and only I could bridge that gap by fiat).
A sabre increase was probably the thing that was the most awkward to convert- but I hardly saw that as a problem as the effect of a sabre increase form then compared to now is very different; it used to be an all-around combat multipler, now it 'just' gives you once extra die on an an attack (admittedly it makes you a better duellist too, which is likely a lure, but this process is not perfect.)
It was not practical in any way at all to let that sort of long-term xp project stay in. But all xp WAS spent on trying to make your characters more like they were before, mostly by making up a force power shortfall, and I erred on the side of generosity in what you got (your gains are probably worth more than the xp I cashed in). In Lana's case I even made a specific compromise where she got some of the skills she wanted to spend ther xp on- no, not perfect, but a hell of a lot more than anyone else got (and personally speaking I feel is a much more sensible use of your xp, especially on a Swordsman style template who keep running into things they cannot do)
To then hear that she is still annoyed about it, after all that... geez...
Very well, you may play on.
As far as force power adjustment is concerned, as I will indeed entertain after everyone's first fight, if you want a new Mastery, rather than totally shifting your character balance by changing your tree investment, re-invest inside the tree. You have both Balance and Co-ordination. Junk one to get the Master verison of the other. That is the sort of tweak I would allow.
Hm, indeed the top Darkside powers are very hard to get, I planned to get Manifest Destiny as soon as possible but I need Iron Will Mastery. I can take Subterfuge, but to Master it I need three other increases first. Iron Will and Charisma Masteries are not that exciting, but I really want to Master Dark Side tree, it has coolest powers in game.
I quess the XP power increases ratio will be similar to last game?

Well, only powers that do not lead me down the path I am interested in are leaping, swiftness and coordination, but I quess I need some combat capability.
I think the point of Rand getting his Dark Side powers when nobody else did was to give his character that potential leadership edge, as he is a Master. Because we shafted him otherwise. Galder was a better swordsman (and still is), and the Forcies had more Dark powers than Rand anyways.
I have no problems with the new system, other than that I finally mastered Feng Shui AFTER it was no longer in use... or so I like to think.
