Two Face!

I'm just saying, you can somewhat consider everything canon except for maybe stories that were actually made to be "What If" y'know?

Ah, I understand what you mean. Continuity is just so damn convoluted that it's probably easier to look at it that way (excluding major stories which are retconned)...

Can anyone tell me the most recent story Two-Face has been in?

I think he recently re-scarred his face after the "Lost Year" (the year that Batman, Robin, and Nightwing left to retrain themselves) after being reformed since the "Hush" story...

I recall seeing an image of him ripping off the healed part of his face...

He's done that several times. He did in what was, at least, his official origin (Batman Annual #14?), though I don't know if that still is the official version, as I think a new origin came out, and that tied in pretty directly to the Long Halloween.
He also did it very recently in the Face The Face arc, which was the crossover Batman arc One Year Later, straight after Infinite Crisis. I think that was the most recent time he's appeared.

So, what are your thoughts on Two-Face returning for the sequel? In other words: Do you think he should return?

No. Nolan's too good a director to have to try the whole 'he wasn't really dead' trick. Time to move on and get over it. The Dark Knight's over. It was incredible. But it's over now. We're not getting The Joker back, nor Two Face. End of. Time to look forward to Batman 3, which will be brilliant. Considering Nolan could probably make a good film with the Penny Plunderer and Orca, just imagine what he'll do with a couple of really good villains. There's no need to cry over a lack of Two Face; it's time to hope for Talia and Bane. 😄

I still would love a Two-Face return. He's my second favorite Batman villain, and more of him would certainly be welcome by me.

If he were not dead, I'd feel the same way. But his death makes more sense, to me, considering the ending of the Dark Knight.

I agree.

Still, it'd actually make Batman a murderer, which he's not supposed to be. It'd be easy for Nolan to bring him back. Afterall, the fall wasn't from a real tall building or anything.

Yes, but it would be pretty plot-holey to have them conceil his death. After all, Gordon read Dent's eulogy. He's gone, I think. Besides, Batman didn't intentionally kill Dent. He offed him only in order to save Gordon's kid. It was really an unfortunate accident that Dent died.
And, if you want to look at it philosophically, the Joker really killed Dent, not Batman.

No, he turned Dent. As he said, he brought him down to our level, and broke Gotham's spirit.

I meant the Joker killed what made Harvey Dent himself. He effectively made a monster and put him on that path to self-destruction.

I do hope he stays dead... it would be sad to see characters returning from the dead just because they were neat.
Granted, he did a good job and I liked him a lot in the movie, but I think it would deteriorate the movies if they would let him return. After all, the first two original batman movies were good, the others went downhill, would be a pitty to see it happening with this too.

I agree, though I'm no great lover of the Tim Burton films. Approaching these films from a more original viewpoint, rather than going at them like any other comic movie, really made them great. Keeping them original and not going back to use old, uninspired ideas is the key to producing another good film IMO...

I think he needs to come back. Personally I like the idea of Batman being tortured by the fact the Joker corrupted Dent and destroyed him and he wasn't able to save him. Him knocking Two Face off a building and killing him and that being that is stupid.

But that 'being that' works brilliantly. Don't you see? There's no chance for redemption, Dent just gone... Joker just corrupted Gotham's real hero and set him on a path to self-destruction so quickly, and so easily. A return for Two Face would be unnecessary, and any return would leave so many plot holes to explain. Nolan's too good a director to be so cheap as to bring a villain back from the dead!

There is no need for redemption anyway. Batman took the blame so Two Face has a clean slate so there's plenty left for him to do.

Actually, he's got **** all to do for the rest of time, except lying in a pine box, I guess.
