Right. I actually have a line to this affect in my guide for tourney directors. And it's excellent advice. You only have yourself to blame if a plan gets axed mid-match, because you didn't check beforehand.

In my case with Evangel, I did check beforehand, which was the reason for the frustration.

Yeah, but I was meaning more like, you ask a Judge (Ill or whoever) they say it's ok, you plan your tourney around whatever your idea was, then you get to the match, everyone kicks up a shitstorm and gets your plan banned.

That's what I want people to avoid by bringing stuff up in the discussion thread beforehand (after the drafts obviously)

Diuscussing actual combat stategies with PARTICIPANTS? I don't think that's strategically wise- anyways prime vote belongs to judges. You just need to describe your strategy to a couple of judges to avoid uneducated bias.

Things can still be banned after the tourney starts ... just making people aware of that.

Have suffered from it in low meta tourney. That's also the reason of doublechecking the feats of a couple of my picks- since I intend to draft "light" versions of several quite powerful characters, and want to avoid "Seras being doubted cause of Alucard's feats" case in the tourney.

At least this one isn't a mixed media and thus no BS debates about whether or not Bram Stocker's Dracula is canon to Hellsing's Alucard.

Wait, we're not having all that Manga crap in this tourney, are we?

(no offence 😮 )

Most of "manga crap" in our team last tourney was Akuki's idea, not mine. Sure, I've brought K' (anyways, he's primarly originated in video game, but I was using his manhua (aka Hong Kong comics, since those are manhua\manga only in geographical sence and the art is not much different from western comics- Ramos' works look more "manga" than Andy Seto ones) version for debates- and that entry was an RT\character promotion, much like Jack Hawksmoor's entry in later mid herald tourney) and Kenshiro (and did poor job at using him, using probably 30% of what character was capable of).
Seras and Kira, our main offence from Akuki's POW, was his idea- I wasn't an expert neither in Bleach nor in Hellsing.

We had two unnecessary loses in the tourney- losing "Riddick" battlefield just because I was too lazy to rewatch the movie before the fight, though it was tailor-made for the team with the BEST h2h character in entire tourney in it (though I wondered what would happen if TWO characters from opposing teams attempted to control a flagman in the opening post- who cares about invasion leader, that would have been a fight of the century), and losing GL battlefield because of lack of time (I HAD scans proving thatwe can grab hold on goddamn rings).

Almost entire tourney had battlefield-centered debates, not actually debating the capabilities of the characters, but the attempts in utilising the battlefield.

Hey guys, I've been away for four days, hence no talking on my part.

I'm just trying to work out, 10 am PST time is about 6 pm GMT time right (for draft day)

Season One is comics only.

Season Two will be mixed genre, however.

Translated.

...

Though I was going to draft Drizzt until constructs were banned, and he's more book character than comic (though he has a comic series now).

lol

Not there's the hate, in fact, manga characters=major headache in the tourney (says vice captain of "manga team" in latest mixed genre tourney). But mixed genre doesn't mean "Ichigo Kurosaki pwnzorz allz1!!1!"- though manga feats are really difficult to gauge.

Another question- do characters with no active superhuman powers rather than passive stuff like mind probing immunity\photographic memory\psychometry qualify in street level tier or that depends on the things like "standart equipment" etc.
Tier table has Christine Trelany and Night Thrasher in low street level tier though, so the question might be pointless.

That's a fair point considering Taskmaster has had the advantage in both fights with Iron Man with his basic equipment.

But then again, if you do that, Tony using Standard Iron Man armour as tech would technically count as two High Meta's, which could jsut get confusing considering how many characters are available and how much tech/equipment they all have.

Why? Only a few posters here know anything about Anime. I mean, I was recently informed that Jackie Chan's Adventures wasn't really Anime. 😬
