I also just realized something about my tourney history: I got kicked out of Evangel's, ill's never finished, partnered with Scoob once, and my very first tourney was before I knew anything about comics (I had read less than 10 comics total on my entire team, and none for 1 of them, and had no scans for any of them). Barring something catastrophic, this will be the first solo tourney I've ever fully completed with anything resembling comic knowledge. For all of my involvement with tourneys, and the numerous matches I've been in, that fact struck me as absurd when I realized it today.
I wasn't angry, I'm just slightly less eloquent whilst inebriated.

Oh, absolutely. No question. Which made my 4th place finish all the more impressive from a debating perspective. I might have had the worst amalgam in the whole tourney. At least Flash Thordon actually was the best....you didn't have to do anything in matches except not suck horribly.

Very true. I'd obviously switch out probably all 3, knowing what I know now. But I didn't even know BRB, knew nothing about GL, and was actually using the picks Quick Freeze left me with when he was forced to drop out (he drafted all but Apollo). Then I was too pleased with myself over the suit-amps-Apollo trick to consider switching. Especially with how little I knew.
I liked comics when I came to this board. But didn't know comics until probably my 2nd tournament as a participant.

Um. Ok? Why are we bringing this up now? And it's also fairly clear that there's a difference between a brand new team post draft (which she allowed, btw...Typhus) and a team that has been competing and hasn't messed up the schedule of matches by missing anything (which I hadn't).
But I never said she needed to let me back in. So you're, I dunno, attacking a straw man there. My beef was always with the rule change after ok'ing it earlier, then ignoring me and refusing to provide a reason for it other than "I don't like it." I checked it, told her exactly what I'd be doing pre-draft, then did it. She watched it for 3 matches, then decided to change her mind about it.

Evangel WAS taking people mid tourney because she needed them for the show to go on.
Barely anything happened between Digi coming and going.
It was all just bee ess, because Evangel wanted to run her show and to hell with anybody that disagreed with her.

Though I really don't think people were too hard. She made rulings and ignored the need for reasonable justifications. On tournaments, rules, participants, anything. Her response to me when I asked for a reason behind the rules change was that she hadn't expected me to use the rules to such a powerful affect (it was inorganic matter manip. with The Doctor). I didn't use them how she thought I would, so she banned it. Yeah. This after me telling her the strategy and using it 3 straight times. I'm happy to be lenient with people, but her and I had actually gotten along fairly well prior to that...then as soon as I disagreed with something (respectfully, at first) she shut me out like I was an ignorant troll. I had even been defending her in that tourney during previous suspect decisions, and I probably could've even stomached the rule switch if it hadn't been accompanied by such a dramatic and complete attitude shift toward me.
If you think she was ok for not letting me back in, that's cool. Like I said, that wasn't my problem. But there's a reason numerous people disliked her, her tournaments, and her decision-making skills. Hell, talk to Scoob...he was close to getting kicked out and/or quitting more than once in a previous tournament of her's as well. My thing wasn't an isolated incident.
But all I was actually doing, earlier in this thread, was sharing random experiences as we talked about past tourneys. The comment about her tourney was a throwaway footnote to a paragraph that was just trying to make an amusing anecdote. For some reason this thread seems to be fond of pulling up low points in Digi's history, or finding some fault with me, then bats posting the O'Reilly clip or something. It's kinda depressing, because I like all of you guys, don't think I'm doing anything to deserve it most of the time, and feel like the constant pressure from one person or another is sapping any and all fun out of the tourney. So if I seem defensive, it's because that's about all I've been doing since drafts ended. Not your fault though. You're entitled to your opinion of Evangel. I'm just sorry it came up in the first place. Her and I talked occasionally over PMs prior to that, and she was fairly fun to chat with. It was sad for me for more than just tourney purposes.
I want battles to start. We'll finally have something better to do....and the banter, arguments, and other stuff I hate about tourneys can end and we can get to the debates.

Yeah, she sucked all the joy out of the last tourney of hers I entered by making me go over the same match 3 times. Nothing against Loot, he was an experienced tourneyologist and had drafted a fairly solid team, but being forced to debate against someone I had just beaten because someone else dropped out ... and winning for a second time ... only to be told I had to face the same guy again in the final .... 😬
Like I said, nothing against Loot, but being told that you could end up 2 - 1 up over a guy and still lose seemed retarded to me in a knockout event.
I basically told her as much (a little more politely obviously) over PM and she turned around and said something like "if you don't want to fight then you can forfeit".
It got a little heated and she threatened to kick me out a couple of times .... will KMC let me call her a ****? if it does then I'd call her a ****faced **** with **** for brains.
If she does decide to come back and host future tourneys, I wont be entering.
I know everyone's experiences with other posters on KMC is different, if Kandy says he got on fine with her then I'm sure she was probably a decent person with him ... consistency is key though.
