That and the others have already pointed out that 5 solid hits and a headbutt from Zan failed to do anything more significant than give Quinn a fat lip and a cut. Compared to the people McClane has fought and scored victories against, or even marginally lose to, Quinn is a nobody, and Zan hasn't got any further showings to compare to.

It does nake it unfairly stacked, but Zan is no Jackie Chan, he's not going to out skill McClane, Zan's style is as much brawling as McClane's is, and McClane has fought more dangerous foes than Quinn.

I'm going to just agree to disagree with you on here. There's no way we are going to convince each other, so why bother?

What is there to disagree on, for all Zan's supposed "skill and technique" he failed to seriously injure, KO or kill anyone in HTH.

Hes been objectively convinced by obvious screenfeats, reason and logic, Lestov.

If I where to look at it this way, then I would ask Lestov only these 2 questions...

#1: Lestov, are you only arguing against McClane because it's McClane? Or is it because Rob, Sadie, Focus and now SMaster are arguing against Zan?

#2: Would you make the same arguments if McClane was not involved?

You know what, I'm going to change my mind again. I think McClane will win. Dude was taking rifle butts to the face which would have KOed/killed the average man with one hit. If those didn't harm him, I don't see Van Zan's punches doing anything. And as you stated, he had no other H2H techniques. Maybe if he snapped someone's neck I could make an argument there, but he didn't. And Van Zan is good, but IDK if he'll have the speed advantage of Lihn, and Van Zan wasn't displaying the karate kicks Stuart used to put McClane down. Even then, McClane got a good leg sweep in. If McClane leg sweeps, then lands a couple of his DH5 punches to Van Zan, IDK if Van Zan can withstand. At least Jack Bauer is extremely durable and can snap necks like twigs, so I can make an argument for him. But Van Zan lacks both of those traits, so Ill say he only takes 3/10.
