Intelligence & cunning competition between Thanos and Darkseid

Who wins in a test of intelligence and cunning.

First test is who would win in a test of knowledge and IQ between these two

Second test is who would come up with the better plan in a shorter amount of time to take over the galaxy or defeat an enemy

1. Thanos
2 Darkseid

Darksied is clearly more intelligent and the superior strategist, despite the fact that he loses against a smarter heroes.

Thanos however is the superior tactician.

So Darkseid wins the first contest and Thanos the second.

Darkseid is more of a long term schemer.

Thanos wins both.

1- Thanos posses technologies that even Doctor Doom can't understand. And he's one of the few who can understand Mighty Galactus technologie. And his own is hella of spectacular itself: his shield resisted to Champion with the Power Gem, and make him survive against Galactus. Plus, he have one of the two most powerful vessel (Sanctuary, second only to TAA II)

2- Thanos again. Darkseid run after ALE, while Thanos already threaten life two times (Cosmic Cube, Infinity Gaintlet) , erase all of it one time (Heart Of The Universe), and plot to destroy it another time, but retract himself at the end (Annihlation). I think that his Curriculum Vitae prove alone that his one of the best schemer of comics.

anyway, cunning is thanos's best friend, the guy turned suicidal tendanceis into banging death itself. thats quite the "before i die i want to----" feat

Thanos's tech isn't anywhere near new-god level. And Darkseid has managed to use his own personal tech to do things like pierce the Source Wall.

And losing to your own subconscious will is laughable. and it's the reason Thanos is inferior. He gets ultimate power 3 times and loses it each time because of his own incompetence. Darkseid is prevented because everyone knows if he got it, he would not yield. As evidenced in FC, Darkseid is far more insidious.

I think that Darkseid gets the very, very slight edge in intelligence...though I could see this going either way. Superior tech doesn't equal superior IQ. New God tech > Eternal tech. Not really Thanos' fault. And doesn't Thanos use Celestial technology from time to time? That's got to be at least the equal of New Gods technology.

Second test goes to Thanos. Both are adept at coming up with cunning plans, but Thanos' plans things to get results pretty quickly, while Darkseid's plans are more long-term and far reaching. Just different styles, I would guess.

*Shrugs* Darkseid tech which he created very quickly actually seriouslly hurt the Source (God), created a device that can suck up all the energy of a planet, tricked the Source (several times) and Spectre

The problem with both is that they tend to be written by some of the least intelligent writers in the business, so their "brilliant plans" tend to be, well, pretty damn sophomoric, to put a point on it.

Thanos clearly wins the 2nd, if Thanos really wants to destroy/take over the galaxy he will. No random boy scout would stop him.

Thanos would never allow himself to be beaten by Superman. That alone should give him the win in both scenarios.

Darkseid used his intelligence to build that tech, and he has issued plans distracting the Spectre causing the Source to go insane, cutting off all the New Gods powers, etc, etc.
