Of course he does. And yet Thanos is dead. while DS was going to be killed and instead orchestrated his own rebirth into the most powerful Evil force the world has ever known.
Thanos is currently at his Mistress death's side so I think its safe to say he is one happy camper. 🙂
DS takes the first he's a schemer who plans for the long haul as others have already stated. The second I guess goes to Thanos, but I've never been convinced by Thanos' greatest triumphs. The IG is a big plot device and taking over the cosmos in the manner Thanos has done?... Involved very little intelligence if you break it down as someone already said, some of these writers seem to be lacking intelligence so their characters grand schemes aren't all that smart.
And Thanos is more often than not a poser. DS has at least been written with some attempt at substance and not just to affect some image of "intelligence". That whole scene with Surfer seemed pretentious. He's been brought back by Death to wipe out 50% of the universe based on environmental pollution?
Really, what were the writers thinking? Darkseid in the same situation would have been trying to steal power from Death because he'd feel she doesn't know what to use her power on, spending her power on the concerns Thanos presented to Surfer would be considered an absolute waste by Darkseid. Thanos is content with being her errand boy. DS takes the first no contest, and he's inherently far more sinister than Thanos.
Darkseid would never have lost the IG not without intervention from a higher power.

thanos plays chess with the omniverse several times and only submits because he knows inside that he is a "poser".......yes, it is true, he is in fact a poser, adam warlock looked into his soul and found his true self (that is why they are "friends" (in a peculiar sort of manner)).
thanos hates being alive since he was born a mutant amongst his preceptively perfect family/race of eternals, eternal culture is that of a "us and them" society, upper and lower class. the lower is the lesser race known as the deviants, thanos has deviant physical characteristics so from birth he was looked at as a freak that couldn't be trusted. the ultimate outcast, from the age of like 6 he began to realize life was meaningless so everything he has done to this point was because he feels like shit.
thanos isn't a "true" villain, he is more of an adversary of the norm.

Because that's exactly what Starlin turned Thanos into by writing this. Starlin also came up with the concept of clones to explain his defeats.
I'm not sure what is more pathetic. Darkseid getting his ass beaten down by Superman, or Starlin coming up with silly excuses for Thanos' loses.

the same was said about darksieds loses supposedly it wasnt "pre crisis" ds and we have never seen the true ds(which has been posted in a scan a few times)

Superman would do the same thing to Thanos, so I fail to see how it's a knock on DS. it's what the guy does. Thanos has never faced anyone like Superman. 😬
