Rand comes and stands by Galder, looking down at the man.

Is it possible for Rand to examine him with Medicine, perhaps stabilize him? He appears badly injured...

"How do you know me?" Galder demands to know, keeping his blaster aimed at the man's face.

Well, I'd vote for giving that dude some medicine and then see how much he likes to live. (which will be very closely related to how he opens the chest for us MUHAHAHAHAHHA)

He's extremely badly injured, Rand. He's lost most of his blood, infection has set in and he's suffering badly from exposure. He's a dead an already; you have no idea why he has not expired yet.

You feel... extreme dedication from him. Fanatacism.

"Infamous..." the man says, painfully. "A swathe of destruction across the Galaxy. That battle on Malastare. Many... have heard of you. Of course it would be you."

Galder allows a grin to crawl across his face, his ego being fed by the words from this dying man's lips, reminding hiim that he is an infamous Dark Sider in his own right and not just some aimless thug for the Lady Adelmo.

"Yes, I am that man," Galder says. "Are you Briande?"

"Yes.... yes, I am Briande. My mission is done! Of course... it would be you that came. Very few... could survive on this place. Would have to be you. There are... others with you, you must have grown strong."

"What do you mean?" Galder asks. "What mission? How did you know I would come for you?"

"Someone had to come... someone had to be sent. Did not think it would be you... but it makes sense. Too dangerous here... too dangerous for almost everyone..."

Whilst Galder is having his heart to heart here, is anyone else going to look at the other stuff? Time is actually at a premium, as the robots organise against you.

I will look at fixing the speeder. (though I think Xavier should)

I say we take the chest and the transmitter with us for now. And quickly interrogate the guy.

The transmitter isn't portable; it would need to be disassembled. Fixing the speeder will take hours.

Rand remains within earshot of Briande, but directs the others to examine the signal generator to analyze where it was transmitting to and what Briande was using it for. He also wants the others to check out the battle droids that seem to have fallen around here, so that we know what else we are up against.

Rand will try to examine Briande's injuries, to see what it was that has burned and bled him.

Well, then I will go trying to find out something about the transmitter. Then if it is useful disassemble it and take it with us.

And again, someone should quickly interrogate the guy as well as possible.

Galder is busy talking to him, and we probably do not have much time before he expires as it is...

"Not for me," Galder insists. "What mission, Briande? What mission have you completed? Tell me, now!"

Hmm. This transmitter is broadcasting a short burst coded message- very short indeed, you couldn;t hold much info in it, but that is why it is hard to detect, even though it is designed to broadcast over an extremely long range (i.e. interstellar).

Technically speaking you cannot receive the message without the right receiver, but you may be able to crack its coding.

He's been shot, Rand. But noit the right hand, that looks... self-inflicted? The fist is tightly grasped, there may be something he is holding.

"But... you know my mission... you must know my mission..."

"I don't!" Galder demands. "Tell me!"

"but how... wait. Waiiiiiiiiiiiiit," he says, weakly, in a near-delerious sing-song. "Who sent you? Who has sent you here?"

Can I try encoding it now? Otherwise will I destroy it if I take it apart to transport?

Disassembling it will certainly make cracking it harder.

Hmm. It has several pre-built settings for broadcasting different mssages. If you can get it to start transmitting its different presets, you might be abel to get enough information to decode it. Being next to the main unit means it shouldn't be too hard; it would be uncrackable if you had simply intercepted the signal.

"Lady Adelmo sound familiar?" Galder tells him. "What does she want with you? I have to know!"
