USH'S STAR WARS GAME- CAMPAIGN II EPISODE IV (DARK SIDE)- Destiny

Started by Bardock42137 pages

It's true that we have a problem with the pirates. We should consider if we have another way to deal with them.

Also, we don't actually know what the crystal is yet.

I think I will change a bit what I said 😐

Gallador stares at Galder and Briande in shock and disbelief. He struggles with a moment, fearing Galder`s retribution, then speaks.

"So quick you are to betray Lady Adelmo?! I understand Galder`s obsession with Kuylen, but the rest of you?! We have wasted our time and destiny on this Epireus, without leadership and goals, and it was Adelmo that came to free us from it! Shall we risk her wrath and reject her only because the "great" Larios Kuylen may be alive, which is quite doubtful? And even if he was, all his past efforts led to failure, he didn`t have enough insight and powers over the force. He devoted so much effort to uncover the ancient powers of the Sith, but was fooled and cowardly run, abandoming his followers! Lady Adelmo seems to have powers much greater than Kuylen, powers that only the Sith of old could equal! I say we should consider working with her for now, until we don`t have a better understanding of her and her mysterious powers. Surely we could learn much from her... and then maybe use it against her." -He looks at Rand with the last words.

Well, here a list of things to consider and discuss:

Lady Adelmo is powerful and uses us, might use us in the future, and can as of yet kill us like bugs.

The Lady also takes care of a problem we have, if we help her this time

Kuylen might still be alive, in which case we could search him out

We have something that is of interest to the Lady as well as possibly Kuylen

There's a bunch of super robots in this desert, guided by a general robot that we might be able to overtake
Anything else?

"Gallador, to me it appears that the Lady does not want us as followers. But as lowly mercenaries. I could see your point if she offered us something more than a bounty once in a while for mere credits. If Kuylen is alive, I would assume you would much rather follow him...I mean, a man that shares your thirst for the ancient knowledge. We know nothing about the Lady, except that she doesn't really need us, and just sent us out as her own men were too precious. We do need her at the moment, but if there is another way of getting rid of our troubles without sucking up to her, I want it to be considered. And aren't you curious at all about the crystal?"

Well, there's one other thing for the discussion pot- there's a viewer on your speeder.

Gallador considers what Con said.

"Well, Lady has sent us because she thought we are good enough to surive here and fins what we are supposed to. She is Master of Darskide, I am sure, and as such she understands well the nature of power. I am not sure that Kuylen would be much different- both of them need followers to help them achieve greater power- but we can surely achieve greater power under worhty guidance. Both powers and vision of this Lady seem quite impressive, wouldn`t you agree? Question is whether we should follow anyone, or could do on our own."

"As for the crystal.....oh yes, I am quite interested. Can I have a better look at it?"

Ush, Gallador would like a good look at this crystal. And what viewer?

"I do see her powers. They are immense.

But, and I think you can relate to it, I find a former Jedi easier to follow as some barbaric dark side witch. We don't now anything about her, about Kuylen we know more. I don't mean we should make a decision now, but we should consider it. And we should investigate whether the man is in fact alive"

Can I repair the speeder and talk simultaneously?

Yup.

It's a data crystal, Gallador, and a very old one by the look of it. You need a viewer to see its contents, and some conversion work.

Con may have a point with his "barbaric witch" argument.

How long will it take to view it?

With any luck, not as long as it takes to fix the speeder.

The Sith weren't Jedi either, Gallador...

Can I just browse through it?

Oh yes, Lady`s divination methods indicated her being the heir to ancient Force traditions. Gallador found Jedi lacking after all, so he became interested in the ways of the Sith. Now he is quite interested in Adelmo`s ways as possible alternative. According to what he heard, what was so great about Kuylen anyway?

He was a very good swordsman...

As for browsing, the equivalent of the file format on the crystal is ancient; it needs Fix-It to convert. it is also damaged; a crack runs through it, causing widespread data corruption.

Xavier will begin working on the Crystal.

Fools that is what some of them are. They don't understand the way of the this yet. Perhaps we should enlighten them.

"Perhaps we should"

"I think we are missing an obvious point to made. The Lady did not send us here because she likes us or is impressed by our powers. If anything I think she displays the common attachment of anger to us. But now we know why us. She couldn't come here cause of her weakness and it would have taken an army to take this place with any non-special group that was sent in. I doubt even the Lady has such resources at her disposal."

"So then from such a relatively short conversation we have gained a few things. One is that we are only here because likely we were the Ladies last option. Two she does in fact have a weakness which means she can be beaten but perhaps not at this moment."

"Expanding on the first a bit more though. I understand the ways of resources and logic behind them. The Lady has emotions, but she sees the us the same way I would. We are tools to be used, and make no mistake the day she no longer needs us she will kill us and destroy everything we are."

"So no matter the course chosen we must have contingencies to deal with her in place. We now have two objectives that I can see left here. To find the bounty for the Marshall back in town. We also have the need to find and possibly exploit this General for our own gains. I said before to Galder if one were building an army surely an already made highly advanced droid army left that has been abandoned could be a good place to start."

Those of you raising the idea that she will kill you when she has no more use for you should consider... what is different about any other leader you could ever possibly have?

You should then examine that statement to see if it is really true, because no-one who really just kills useful agents around them like that will ever get anywhere.

Xavier doesn't think she will kill them for no reason, but he does have a feeling when they are no longer useful or if she feels she can not control our group she will not hesitate to get rid of them.

Err, well, I can only repeat what I just said to that. What is it about Adelmo that you think she WILL do that and other candidates for leaders will not?

And what if you were always useful? What if you were essential, in fact? Right now you are just doing a job for her. It might not always be like that. Some of the group have long sensed that the Lady is an opportunity.

Galder felt she would kill him eventually. But then you've all been considering that.

Except Galder's mental outlook is rapidly changing now.

"Scary as the thought is," Dak begins, "I agree with Xavier. It's not hard to see that Adelmo harbors no desire to keep us alive after we've finished being useful to her. Who is to say she will even keep her word and aid us against the pirates? That sure is an efficient, unsuspicious way of disposing of us. But now... droids are her vulnerability, and here we are surrounded by advanced battle droids just waiting for a new leader."

You don't have the advanced skills or equipment needed to re-programme the droids, the means to ship them off world, or the abillity to deploy them against her unless she is stuck on a planet, and you don't know where she is or where she is going; she also, presumably, will be well served by the Force in foreseeing intentions or sensing danger.

You also have a feeling that the only way to deal with the General is going to be the old-fashioned way.

If she doesn't keep her bargain with you, she cannot use you ever again. Also if she doesn't keep her bargain with you, you might be unable to leave Epireus ever again, surrounded by a oirate fleet. So you had better hope she does!

There really is nothing to say that she will be any different from any other leader or that we may someday become useless. We are a very dangerous group of people.

I think Xavier's point is more or less from a group's perceptive we need to at least think about ways to protect ourselves should anything along those lines arise, and this desert may present our only opportunity to do so.

You think she would have sent you there if she thought there was any risk of that happening?

In fact what you have learned is no more than could have been logically worked out anyway, which is that mind-affecting Force Powers don't work on robots.

What you might want to consider is exactly what Briande meant aboit sending worlds insane. You've never heard of anything like that before.

It's certainly not in any stories you know of about the Sith.
