USH'S STAR WARS GAME- CAMPAIGN II EPISODE IV (DARK SIDE)- Destiny

Gallador stares at Xavier for a moment.

"You speak logically, but I am not sure how Kuylen would be much different with this regard. After all he abandomed Galder and others when he didn`t need them. And of course, do you think this group would exist if we didn`t think we need each other to survive?

But indeed, getting to this General would be very useful."

We can locate the General, right Ush?

Yes, though from the readings you are getting you won't need to. Seems forces are coming in from other parts of the Desert to move against you.

You think she would have sent you there if she thought there was any risk of that happening?

In fact what you have learned is no more than could have been logically worked out anyway, which is that mind-affecting Force Powers don't work on robots.

What you might want to consider is exactly what Briande meant aboit sending worlds insane. You;ve never heard of anything like that before.

It's certainly not in any stories you know of about the Sith.

Well it seemed like Brainde was at least an associate of Kuylen. I think if the Lady knew this then she understood sending in Galder after this kind of guy had risks no matter what.

As for the rest perhaps that is something for our brain trust to work on.

"We do not know about Kuylen therefore we can not make an accurate judgment on him, but from his brief background we see no reason to assume he would not do the same as the Lady."

"As to what this group. We think it is obvious we have the best chance of surviving together, but is that all we are about?"

"Well, I thought we had common goals to achieve some lasting sucess in this Galaxy, but we are hardly able to focus our efforts efficiently. And staying on Epireus didn`t provide many opportunites in this regard, especially that we couldn`t get back to Republic."

A flying droid passes overhead- it seems they have some aerial backup too.

Well, how much time do we have before we need to be back?

I mean, we have no specific leads on Kuylen, except that we think he might still be alive. And we need to get rid of the Pirates. So, maybe we should see what we can do about the droids (taking them as personal army being best case scenario)...taking what we can from the crystal...and then, like the deal demands, go back and give Adelmo what she asked for in order to get rid of the pirates. From there we can still see how the whole thing turns out. If it comes down to it, Con finds Kuylen more interesting though at the moment...but we don't know much about the Lady yet, so maybe she turns out being more to our liking.

Well, as far as things go, Rianna doesn't like Adelmo, full stop. And she only went along with this because it was the only way we'd be able to deal with the pirates.

And she doesn't exactly trust Briande nor does she really think Kuylen is still alive, and looking for him would be a bit of a wild goose chase.

At the very least, I say we take a look at the contents of the crystal, and copy it for ourselves. That way if what it has is particularly important or powerful, Adelmo can't hold it over us as we have it as well.

You have recovered a single image from the crystal so far.

It is of an alien being in a dark, solid-llooking room. You don't know what species he is, but he is one of the slightly more exotic ones, seeing as from his armoured form spring forth four tendrils instead of two arms.

"In Mystery of the four-limbed Jedi you will find the truth!"- Exclaims Gallador.

"I have seen him in my visions of the future. Information inside this datapad is of great importance to us!"

"Is it now," Xavier says as he continues to work on it.

Data crystal.

"As much as I would like to join the legendary Kuylen," Tanic says, "I really don't know how you expect to find him, Galder. Last time, all we found was a career criminal looking to make a name for himself.

"As for Adelmo, I don't like her. Still, she clearly has some plan going on. We could always return to her and wait for later, see if a better opportunity comes up. If the worst comes to the worst, though, by sending us here she's given us an amazing place to hide."

I hope that data crystal doesn't turn out to be a low-budget space porn movie.

Well, you have established several things about that crystal.

It contains a series of recordings. Why it contains a series of recordings, you are not sure; you don't think this crystal is actually the original recording medium that the things depicted upon it were put onto.

It's very old. VERY old. You cannot tell how old really but part of the degredation of the data is due to age, and these old crystal recording systems were good for centuries or more. Of course, that crack in it doesn't help.

Finally, there is an extra piece of very much more modern data that has been added onto it. It's encrypted with a genetic lock; totally unreadable to anyone other than someone with the right genetic code.

Is it possible it's Galder's genetic signature that will unlock it?

also can we date when the modern data got put on?

'Recently' is all you can get.

No, the genetic lock is for Larios Kuylen.

Galder will ignore Gallador's snide remarks about Kuylen's abandonment, having been too fascinated and obsessed with accessing the information on the crystal.

When the image of the four-limbed is accessed, Galder frowns, unsure what to make of it. But when Gallador makes his exclamation, Galder turns to him, just as the droid flies overhead.

"What do you mean by that?" Galder asks. "Got something you want to tell me? Or should I keep those insults of Kuylen in mind for later?"

Rand shoots Gallador a stern glare, then turns it on Galder.

"Secrets are best kept secret," Rand says, "or they expire and are no longer secrets."

Rand eyes the droid that floats by overhead.

"We need to prepare ourselves," Rand says. "The droids are coming."

Galder simply glares back.

"Let them come."

"Secrets are also like wounds that are kept hidden and unattended. They begin to fester and grow larger until at such time they can kill the person hiding them," Xavier says handing the Data Crystal to Galder. Then he begins to work on the speeder.

Rand does not respond to Xavier, crossing his arms and pulling his robes about him against the gritty winds of the Desert of Stones.
