USH'S STAR WARS GAME- CAMPAIGN II EPISODE IV (JEDI)- Purity

Where did Gallagher last see him? And did he tell us where he was going?

At the starport, and no.

Hmm. Gallagher will go to the starport, to see if Zaland has been seen anywhere.

Remember the bit in Last Crusade where Marcus Brody is trying to find help in Africa?

This is how you feel now, with your skill set. You are surrounded by lights and sounds and colours that you have absolutely no idea about. You only have one advantage- you did actually study other languages at the Temple, and Huttese is one.

What kind of people are you going to talk to, though, and what exactly are you going to ask them?

Well, Sienar did imply there was a time limit to your work...

Sunda- frustrated that his primary job of removing limbs from people doesn't seem to swing in this mission- has this vague idea that maybe he should be around to meet these Senate bigwigs. He's not much experience in such an area and he is sure Yoda said something about learning new things, at some point (though Sunda probably took that to mean 'new sabre techniques' at the time).

(Hehe, I reall like this Sunda kid. Would have made a good padawan for Andro.)

"Alright, let's just get in there and start nosing around."

Ok, you guys head to the Basilica entrance, which tskes a while as it is jam pakced.

As you get near the Basilica some attendants at the front gate come over your way.

"Your weapons, please," asks one of them.

(Assuming we have no legal choice if we wish to enter. Although it seems rude to request this of a Jedi.) Hearing the request, Oh, not this again. At least they can't turn mine on. Andro thinks as he complies with a forced smile. "May the Force be with you."
As soon as they are through the checkpoint, he immediately starts scanning this crown for Deel, Seinar and Gallagher.

And the others?

Yea, lets play nice.

"Thank you," he says. "Of course, you may have them back in the Basilica at the end of the period of Jubilee, or whenever you leave the structure."

Ah- a celebration of peace. No weapons. That's why so many Senatorial Guards are outside; it is the only way they cna keep their weapons with them.

Jelena will turn over her lightsaber without problem.

"It makes sense," Jelena says to the man who takes their swords. "Peace and balance cannot be brought by weapons, no matter how elegant and legendary they are. They are weapons, just the same."

Ok, well, it is masively crowded in here. The Senastorsin attendance are from doenz, more, of different worlds and various species. This is a full prosthetics/CGI fairground, with humans, humanoids, and... things all other. Beetle species, flying species, hairy species, clam-and-a-tentacle species... the whole Srar Wars multiracial deal. Some have life support systems as they do not come from oxygen breathing worlds.

The massive Grand Hall of the Basilica- that the whole citadel is built around- is wheren the reception is taking plac,e in the form of an enormous banquet.

Jelena looks around. She uses the Force to sense the thoughts and feelings of all these different life forms. And yet she is worried what fate awaits these Senators, gathered in the Basilica under the supervision of someone so sinister as Sienar.

"Roan, I wish to find Nebb, for the sake of seeing 'old friends,'" Jelena says to Roan. "Andro should look into the presence of Deel Twain. Perhaps you should introduce your Padawan to some politicians?"

She gives a brief smile before moving off into the crowd of Senators, looking for Nebb.

Out of curiosity, I don't suppose Senator Galahad is on the Poverty Commission?

Unofrtunately, you have been assigned seats at the banquet- there is no hope at all of seeing who you wish to see, even if you could literally see them.

Galahad is not, no. Coming from a world that consumes more in a month than some of the affected worlds do in a year (despite having half the population) makes him less concerned on such matters.

That is frustrating, and I have a feeling it was intentional. I thought this was meant to be a meet-and-greet for Senators to have conversations?

Unfortunately, those of you with any political knowledge... (wind whistles by) will know that such meetings and greetings will have been set up in advance months ago by the Senators' personal secretaries. Now the whole charade is just playing out. The sudden arrival of some interposing Jedi will not upset that.

It does seem to have been set up, Jelena, yes. But you sense there is more to it than that. If Sienar wanted to kepe you away from info, he could have just kept you away from the Reception at all. Instead he actively invited you. Hmm.

The slightly better news is that you can all choose who it is you end up near to, or at least talking to... from the following list.

A young looking Synod member

An old looking Synod member

A human Senator

An alien Senator

A young lady in plain clothes

Choose carefully, for the information you get will depend on your choice! let's see how good yout instincts are.

Can we use the Force to increase the odds of sitting next to someone we will get more information from? Roan has Scan and Empathy.

Also, I think I noticed that Jelena does not have an Academic specialty set out. I want to use Languages for that. Is that ok?

Afraid not, this is not so much a conscious decision as a player decision.

Besides which all of them will give you info, and I cannot judge what parts of the puzzle will help you the most.

Languages it is! Handy that.

I think that Jelena will choose to seat herself next to the alien Senator! It will give her a chance to use her specialty in Languages and see things from the perspective of someone that is not human.

(Andro will go for the Young Lady in plain clothes, for several reasons. First, not being good at word games, he doesn't feel he has much chance with a Senator, figures no career-minded Synod member would even speak with him. Also Andro wants to get the opinion of 'real people'. Obviously, she's someone or she wouldn't be here, but even if she's a Senator or an aide, she is obviously not the pretentious sort. Her and Andro ought to get along well at the very least.)
