They do not keep any secuirty on the personal quarrers, Roan. It would also take you a long time to check footage when there is really no reason for you to do so.

Youer time to be quicker is almost up. I need a reasonable hard piece of evidence that you already have that Andro is not at Kathya's room.

-

Sorry Andro- Kathya is opening fire.

(Ah, ok. Well, the new plan is:
Orthodox Guard
Cleave
Perfect Strike

Also, Andro will be jumping down instead of up, or down if he already jummped up... so let's use Swifness to get one of these vats between Kathya and me. How many vats and what is there layout? Will I be able to cut down on incomming fire by running around behind vats? Trying to cut down on the number of foes with line-of-sight to me as much as possibe. I'm going to try the waiting game, and just take on anyone who gets too close. Maybe some hit-and-run tactics against the Droids once I get their measure. I forget, are these typical one hit kills with a saber, or will I have to hack at them a bit?)

Quickly changing plans even as he makes them, Andro opts to jump down and dash behind one of the large vats of chemicals. Hopefully, he can use the cover to his advantage, blocking most if the incomming fire.

And down you go!

For simplicity, the area is split into three levels, each representing a variety of criss-crossing walkways. There is an automatic point of cover involved from firing between upper to lower or vice versa. Additional cover can also be gained by going behind a vat, and it can also rule out some firers on different levels.

Andro, you just leapt down and ran behind a vat. The droids are now all in psoition and their entry doors have closed. Any droid on your level is alwas within run and slash distance.

Let's go.

Andro (LS 12/ FP 5): 3/3/0 [Orthodox Guard/Cleave/Perfect Strike] (behind vat)

(Ok, sorry for the delay. It's getting harder to get on at home. Lesson for those of you who might think it'd be a good idea to get your wife/girlfriend into World of Warcraft: NOT necessarily....)

Looking for an opportunity, Andro zips out from behind cover, headign for the two nearest droids. He lashes out at them with his saber, trying to cut them down and duck behind another vat.

(Let's use Cleave to try for a two-fer, and burn a point for Ward to see if I can get one action off scott-free.)

Things start well for Andro, as he ahs initiative! Racing over, he attacks two droids. With a current Lightsabre score of 12 (that is his natural skill of 9, plus 1 for being a Swordsman, +2 for using Perfect Strike), his actual dice pool is 16, as a Sabre is a ** weapon, and you get 2 extra dice against Mooks for each star.

The Super Battle Droids have armour, with lightsabres ignore. As Andro is using a Lightsabre, he only needs to roll 4s for successes. Andro rolls the statistically expected eight successes on his rolls, though one of his missed dice was a 1, which Orthodox Guard turns into a success as well. Nice successes! You only need three to kill a mook, so Andro get shis double kill!

Now comes the bad news; ouf away from a vat, Andro can now be targeted by everyone. In his favour, he has coer from the upper droids and Kathya because of criss-corssing walways. Andro has also activated Ward, which gives him the defensive ability of Co-ordination (bad guys only hit on 6s) even though he attacked this turn. Let's see!

12 droids attack him from up top with three duce each (their natural skill of 6, minus 3 for Andro's defences). Due to cover, their first success is ignored. Well, Andro's Ward turns out to be sensible as not one of them rolls a double 6! He is safe. Laser bolts smash into the walkways all around him, blowing holes in the railings and the grills, and a couple in vats behind him, which could ebcome alarming.

We only have eight firers on the second level. But Andro is not in cover from them! Their first success is not ignored. We have three hits, for three points of damage each.

We then have firing at the bottom on the same basis,. Only one of them rolls a 6, so only one hits!

Finally, Kathya takes aim from up top. Her Eagle Eye makes the cover of the walkways no good. Her Light Pistol gives her two extra dice, and using Marksman with it gives her another 2. Andro's defence reduces that to 9, but she still beeds to get 6s. She scores only a glancing hit!

Andro has put on an amzing defensive show against many opponents whilst still being on the offensive, but even a Jedi can only give so smuch. His level of attrition is high.

Roan and Jelena, you are on yuor way to Kathya's office. It will likely be too late to help Andro, I feel.

[Jelena- you seemed to entirely discount the clue I gave you earlier, when I said Andro's comms had no reception]

(Crap, that comm blockage would have indicated Seinar's office. Even I didn't catch that part. But yeah, doing the math, there's no way I can take these guys. I'll go down and get captured/disabled/killed. Room will be a mess though. 😄 Hmmmm... How would Andro suppose the droids woild do agains the acid? Maybe it could be used offensively? Also, I don't know about this room, but catwalks in general, especialy the cinematic type, are pretty flimsy. A lightsaber might do a lot of damage to it's supports. Sorry, brainstorming alternate strategies here.
Here's what I'm thinking:

Run around the mid level hacking supports and dodging fire. As the walkway(s) fail, leap to the top level. Hoping the fall and wreckage will not do the mid level droids any good, and possible some low level droids, but I've thinned their numbers a bit anyway. Then it's just Kathya and the top droids to deal with, plus that might wreck the vats to, which should be a bad think for the bad team. Crazy?

(Until I commit or get that idea shot down, let's have another go at the same action as last turn, including Ward.)

The idea is kinda workable but they;d be shooting at you whilst you arer doing the cutting and you wouldn;t be reducing their numbers, and you could only destroy a few at a time anyway. The acid is dangerous but more likely to you than them; they can set it off at range and they are not stupid enough just to tread on it after it sprays out.

Rememebr you have a tap's worth of Orthodox Guard to keep you safe(r) for a turn at some point, and you do have another Guard to replace it with. Also remmeber Perfect Strike can be tapped for defencew when things get bad.

Going ahead?

(and yes, the comms outage was a direct lead to Sienar's secret area)

Or maybe you could work out a way to bail. You could try to just get out of there?

I believe he is sealed in there and would be completely vulnerable while cutting through a door.

Indeed, the doors are shut.

And Jelena was just having a fit about that. Sorry, Andro...

(Ah, well. It won't be the first time Andro takes a massive beating going it alone against a room full of droids. Although last time it was more of a tactical error trying to be the hero instead of a major blunder like walking in here alone. Totally didn't see the droid army coming. Let's Tap Perfect Strike and take down some more droids on this level.)

Is that tapping Perfect Strike in lieu of using Ward?

(No.)

That will certainly keep you relatively safe; you may wish to consider how to best use your resources however, in such a fight. You only have another four force points left.

(Well, I looked again, and I'll save th Force point. Just Tap the Guard. Then I'll swap into the other guard. Are there any other remarkable features in this room? Also, though I'd take a pounding, how long to cut through a door? Also, if I just stayted behind a vat, how many would be able to attack me at one time?)

Wait- tap the Guard? or Perfrct Strike?

Door cutting takes a a couple of actions I am afraid, during which your blade scthciks are shut down. Not good for you.

Behind a vat, only half can shoot at you... but really, what good is that to you? You can't attack any of them.

(Sorry, Tap the guard.)

(Tapping your guard this early in the fight might be a bad idea, Andro. Without it, that leaves you with a Defense of 1, meaning that Kathya and the Supers would get almost their full dice pool when shooting at Andro. He'd be toast immediately. Tapping Perfect Strike would leave them with less pool for a turn.)

(And then swap Perfect Strike out for Riposte, so that you can tap that the next turn and wipe out a few more battle droids than you already are.)
