USH'S STAR WARS GAME- CAMPAIGN II EPISODE IV (JEDI)- Purity

Only if he is next to them when they attack. Timing is all.

(Let's try Rex's idea.)

(So tapping Perfect Strike, swapping that for Riposte, attacking the Supers. Sound good, Andro?)

Andro has initiative again! He cuts down his two targets with ease.

The Perfect Strike tap makes it impossible for the droids at the top to hit him- good news. Andro whirls his sabre around in a dazzlaing display of deflection.

That still leaves him twelve attacks, even if only on one die each. I get a very statiasdtical four hits, for another 12 damage.

Kathya rolls poorly again, rolling another single success for another three damage. She hasn;t managed to get a proper handle on yuo so far...

(Andro, I noticed that you don't have your Combat schticks listed. Did you ever pick those out? Could be important.)

(I'm, not sure I ever did. Ush, mind if I go ahead and do that now?)

Go for it!

(I'll go for these:
Feint
Counterstrike
Dodge and Weave
Martial Artist
Overhead Blow
Whirling Strike

That said, let's go the next round with:
Ortodox Guard/Dodge and Weave/Riposte
My rolling has been fairly good it seems, with damage left over. I'd like to try to clear the lower level this turn. Is that feasible? I'm hoping the Riposte will make up for cleave? Maybe? If I try for four, but only roll enough for 2-3, I still get the 2-3 right? The whole thing's not a failure, or is it? If I risk complete failure, let's go for three.)

I think you misunderstand Riposte and Cleave. You never choose a number of targets here, with the exception of some force powers.

Bear in mind Dodge and Weave will be completely non-functional whilst your sabre is out.

I think you might be misunderstanding something. With Riposte, you only attack if the dice they roll total a multiple of 5 (or 6 when tapped). Then, you roll an individual attack on that one droid. And without Cleave, you can only attack one droid in a turn.

I think you should stick with Orthodox Guard/Cleave/Riposte, attack two droids, and tap Riposte to see if you get bonus attacks against the other two droids. And maybe spend another Force point on Ward, this time, but that's up to you. Then, swap out Riposte for Dodge and Weave, because then the next turn you can tap that to remain totally clear while making a Combat attack (because you cannot use it with a Lightsaber attack).

Make sense?

Also, the schticks you have picked out, some are for unarmed combat and others are for armed (like with a knife or axe, etc.). Does Andro fight both ways?

(Wow, I can't beleive how way off I am. Sorry guys, and appreciate the patience and help. I was thinking the armed combat counted with sabers, though in hindsight I'm sure I've had that misconception before. Let me re-pick my combat powers if I may, because no, Andro would not fight armed with anything a saber. Plus, I never considered switching between combat and saber in a fight befre. Let's try:

Feint
Counterstrike
Dodge and Weave
Martial Artist
Focussed Blow
Leaping Attack

So the next turn will be Ortho/Cleave/Riposte, and let's see if Andro can clear the level.)

Anything being tapped? Using Ward?

(Ok, tap Riposte, and use Ward. It might be cool to be alive when Roan and Jelena show up. Unless that's already been ruled out? Let's wipe these guys outm anyhow, at least Andro can try to leave as little for the next two as possible. Wanted to go against Kathya, though, but that doesn't look possible anymore.)

Remember each round is a few seconds. Compare how long it takes people to search through a large building when they have gone the wrong way.

Andro, swap Riposte for Dodge and Weave. It's always important to make swaps when you tap something.

(Yes, I will do that swap. I'm leaving on vacation today, I'll be back on Thursday.)

A desperate Andro dashes across the walkway, trying to reduce his attackers. But this turn, the enemy wins initiative and fires first! I will hold his Riposte tap until next tun ion that basis as he is not currently next to any foes.

Thanks to his Ward, none of the Mark IIs up top roll the two or more 6s they need for a hit through the cover of the walkways. The fire from the rest continues; Andro takes nine damage from the droids and another four from Kathya (still not rolling as well as she might).

Andro gets to his next target and hacks down two more!

I'd be careful with your next move...

I am supposing that we are waiting for the proper sequence for Jelena and Roan to get to Kathya's quarters?

You just got there, to find it empty.

If Andro gets initiative, he should attack the two remaining battle droids below and tap Cleave so that he gets the bonus defensive dice. Swap Cleave for Dodge and Weave.

If Kathya and the Battle Droids get initiative, he should flat out Defensive Leap to evade all damage from the Supers and take dice from Kathya's pool.
