A Place For My Head (RP Thread)

Carpathian smiled "we...as in you, Mara, and i. we" he stood up slowly and picked up a stick to steady himself. "just hold my hand and hold onto Mara...trust me"

She frowned and eyes him wearily, but too his hand after puller her pack back on. She reached out and put her hand on Mara's head. Mara purred and rubbed her head against Lin's hand. "Well Mara trusts you... But I dont."

Carpathian nodded "after what i pulled, i don't blame you." he closed his eyes and listened as the forest split down the middle and made a direct path for them

She raised a brow and looked over at Mara. She seemed ok with it, so there really wasnt a reason for her to be upset. Lin shrugged and moved to pull her hand out of Carpathian's.

Carpathian squeezed it gently before letting go "stay next to me and be quiet. the trees have ears and the leaves have mouths. for the Dark Lords will now if they hear someone besides myself in the forest

Lin nodded and put her fingers to Mara's lips. "Shhh." Mara put her ears back against her head and tried to make the sound Lin made. "Azhhhh." Lin put her hand over her mouth to keep herself from laughing as she followed behind Carpathian.

Carpathian unsheathed his axe and watched carefullly for creatures of the damned "if you see something tell me right away" his grip tightened around the hilt and closed his eyes, listening to the forest

Lin looked up at him, studying his face. She sighed and stepped carefully over the forest floor. She put her hand on his shoulder to let him know she was there.

Carpathian pushed her to the ground as a clawed foot shot out from the sky. a bird like demon swiped for them as Carpathian felt a talon cut through his cheek "damn it!!" he stumbled but got bak in and chopped at the demon's foot "stay down!!"

Lin ducked and looked to her cat. "MARA!" Mara growled and lept into the air, jumping onto the creature's back and biting into it's neck. Lin stayed down but watched her cat.

the demon screeched and whipped its tail into the cat's back. Carpathian noted the cistraction and lodged his axe into the creatures chest "i hate this place at times!" he pulled it down so it came out of the demon's bottom half

Mara growled and jumped down, slinking over to Lin who stood and looked at the cat's back. "You're gonna be ok." She whispered. "I wont be riding for a while though." She looked over at Carpathian quietly, wondering if the gods knew she was here now.

Carpathian gulped for air as he turned around "run...run as if you're being chased by death itself!" he waited for the two to run

She frowned and looked at him, her hand on Mara's head. "What about you?"

Carpathian held his axe tightly "i'll be watching your back. NOW GO!!" as he got done shouting he heard the cry of his worse fear

Lin's eyes widened and she took off at a dead sprint through the cleared path. "Be careful!" Mara easily kept up with her, staying close incase something attacked.

Carpathian ran after them, watching for the creature all feared "keep going until you find a clearing...."

Lin nodded and pushed on, Mara closed behind her. Every now and then Lin would stumble but Mara would be right there to steady her. "What's after us?"

Carpathian turned around real quick and looked back "they called it 'Baahl', god of death and war." he knew it wasn't a god but it sure was close to being one

Lin frowned and looked back at him over her shoulder. "Baahl?" She winced and fell to the ground, her foot had slipped and wedged between two stones. Her ankle was twisted. It would be a bad sprain. "Damn.. I shouldnt have looked back." She winced and struggled to pull her foot free.
