STAR WARS: RETROSPECTION- Decay

The spacer takes a gulp of his drink, then sets it down.

"Two guys came in here asking for transport off of Zehat," the spacer says. "Looked like brothers, maybe twins. Wasn't really paying attention. Anyways, they tried paying me with trinkets, but I only take creds, so I told them to buzz off. But they said they wanted passage to Vono'k. They promised me if I took the trinkets a man named Sparnik would pay me nicely, but gut instinct said no."

Is there public transport or something that I could board? To that place? And what do I know about it?

Vono'k is an Outer Rim world that had been in talks with the Republic for annexation; you hear they are currently suffering from a violent revolution that has overthrown the government in favor of anarchy.

No public transport will take you there. Your best bet is finding a way there on your own. Hiring a pilot, stowing away, stealing a ship... whatever you think is within your capabilities and moral standards as a Jedi.

Hmm, can I find out if there are any private transports or personal ships out there?

You are in a cantina full of spacers for hire...

Yeah, I was just thinking that if I want to hide myself on towards there it would probably be dumb to ask the pilot about it.

Is there a reward for getting back the artifact?

And could I pilot a ship myself?

The Order is likely not posting a reward as it is a Jedi matter.

And you could at a basic level get to Vono'k by yourself. The issue, then, is getting a starship.

Hmm, could I break into the hangar and get a ship from there?

Definitely possible! They are all privately owned by spacers in this cantina.

It is Intrusion to break into the hangars and steal a starship.

I'd like to try that, then.

Do you have Intrusion?

Sadly not.

Hmm, could I maybe trick the spacer into taking me?

Trick how?

I was thinking either convince him to do it for what I might find with the Medraudts, or lying to him that they have a big stash or that there is a reward, or lying to him that I will pay him when we are there?

Lying has potential. Come up with a set pitch and I can see how it goes.

Keep in mind that lies must be convincing. If it is too farfetched, he won't buy it, so make it believable.

Con thinks for a second, he knows it's not right for him to mislead this spacer in such a way, but he needs to finish his mission...for his master and himself...besides, if the force wants it, the pilot might even get something out of it, so after, just a moment he addresses the the guy he just bought a drink "Look, you heard of the robbery of the Museum I assume, I am in pursuit of the thieves that did it. If you get me to Vono'k I will give you 10.000, no, lets say 15 000 from their stash. Certainly a fair price for such a run"

The spacer rubs his chin; he doesn't look quite convinced.

"What are you trying to achieve by catching them?" he asks.

"I am in it to bring back one specific item...and...a more personal reason. I don't care for their money, and I am willing to give you a more than fair share if you help me."

"What makes you so sure they have that kind of money?" he asks.

"They wouldn't pull that mission for nothing. And judging from their skills they are quite successful. I understand, for you it is a small risk involved, but it is minor to the possible gain. You don't have to smuggle or hide me, I am free to go, no trouble with the law, all you gamble is a bit of your time."
