Well, I will face one of them then, if possible a smaller one, and can I get an advantage over them somehow? Drop from above for example, or hiding behind a tree, etc.?

A straight ambush should be no problem for someone of Con's calibre. The big thing is that you need to get a hold of a dropship or it will take you days to get to the starport. Not being the most stealthy of Jedi, Con would be found and possibly killed.

Can I ambush a squad with a ship then?

Of course. How do you want to approach this?

I thought telling the Pilot to go into hiding while I wait for one of the ships to approach. When they do so, I would either wait until they stop or when they come close to me, ignite my sabre to shock them and perform an very quick attack on them to take advantage of them not knowing where I am (probably trying to take out a few with Flying Charge.

What if they are in the dropship?

Do the dropships have any weaknesses to my knowledge?

Being atmospheric carriers, they are slower than most vessels. They have open sides that you could climb into if you managed to hop aboard... but remember, you want it intact.

Hmm, a sort of diversion, possibly a forest fire of some sort, or at least some smoke might make them come closer to give me a chance to jump into one.

Smoke could be an indicator of human presence, so the Grotos would certainly send a dropship over to investigate! Handy.

I will do that then. Set up a particular smokey fire (though not to big, don't want all dropships arriving)...and I will wait nearby, maybe hiding in a tree to be higher up when the ship arrives.

The pilot should hide further away, maybe in a cave or similar.

The pilot will take cover and wait until you tell him to do otherwise.

Con goes about starting his smoldering fire, gathering leaves and sticks and setting them aflame with his lightsaber. Smoke starts to drift out of the treeline and you wait...

...for only about ten minutes. A dropship comes into the area to check out the fire. It stays above the forested area as it cannot descend into it without damaging itself. Finally it moves into a clearing where it can deposit the investigating Grotos and wait for them.

How big is the group of investigators?

A dozen strong, all with heavy assault rifles and light blast armor.

And how many do I expect in the ship?
