H2: Halloween 2

I saw this movie this past sat. and i'll have to say that it was even better than pt.1. ('07)

Rob Zombie kicks ass, man.

Fcukin' crazy twist at the end. omg. I held my mouth agaped, figuratively speaking.

There may be a sequel even though i thought this was to be a 2-part story.

I love how Zombies' Holloween movies took the Myers concept out of the normal, bland working family/suburban ambiance and slammed him it into the world of trailer trash, artsy, drunken curses, independent liberal/psychopathic/pschychedelic atmosphere. Where Myers fits in more.

I like Jason Vorhees but i'll have to say that Myers is my homocidal maniac of choice.

I absolutely loved the thickly bearded "Mountain Man" Micheal Myers. It mad him seem, real, more life-like, human, and not phantasmic like some supernatural ghost or boogyman.

The killing was just the most gruesome ever. It's the first time i've actually heard Micheal Myers grunt kinda loudly while stabbing and killing his victims. He just did it so violently, lol. I mean you could actually hear the fast and hard thumps with the sound of meat getting cut into with the forcefull grunt. it was crazy. it's like he just sledgehammers that kitchen knife in ya with all his might.

The movie poster was one for the ages.

Loved the scene where he was right outside that barn, sitting on that grassy knoll, just staring at a huge moon with his mask on.

Mike Myers sister did a great job, as well.

I give this movie a 9/10. I want to watch it again.

Halloween 3D: The third film is suppose to be going to follow the awful 3D trend, I don't think the Halloween films have to be in 3D at all. This is according to the Weinstein Brothers, or something like that. With a new director this time around but apparently he also has experience in the Horror genre.

Wow...how original

Really. Interesting, only i can't imagine a 3D holloween or what it could even look like.

As long as it works, i guess. And as long as it doesn't looks as bad as "Freddy's Dead: A Nightmare on Elm Street 6 (3D)" or "Friday the 13th pt.3(D)".

On second thought maybe they shouldn't do that. make it 3D, meaning. I'll take another Halloween movie though..

A.K.A raping the character. Myers wasnt even tactical at all or anything here. They even compared him to a caveman within the movie. The old Myers could never draw such a comparison. As he usually isolates his victims and kills them in a quick an effective manner. While it was cool to see some ultra violence, it just isnt Michael's style and I didnt feel like I was watching Halloween when he was doing it. Believe me, I loved the kills, I think its one of the only redeeming factors of the film. But the repeated stabbing and yelling isnt like Michael Myers at all. The most we've ever heard from him is some grunts and hard breathing until this.

Michael Myers is SUPPOSED to be mysterious and sort of like a presence rather than a barbaric human. He is even credited as "The Shape" in the original. When I say raping a character, I mean changing the character for better or for worse.

Zombie should've done the TCM remake instead the Halloween remake. Even though BackFire and some other may disagree (Dont think they could possibly be pleased by TCM remake no matter who did it. lol 😛 )

I won't exactly argue your point.
Myers is potrayed as being mysterious and more like a phantom.
But I thought Zombie's interpertation gave the character a much needed kick in the ass.
Their has been nothing done good with the character imo, since part 4 (though 6 was okay I thought).
I would say Michael Myers may have had a few weak films in the past, but I don't think he got raped until ressurection when Busta Rythmes kung fu kicked him through a wall.
Plus I thought it was much more cooler that he stormed through the forest all ragged looking rather than drive abandoned cars through the neighborhood.
At that point( with Busta kicking him) I strongly think it was a good idea to re-interpert him and not worry about making the films glossy and prepackeged for the pop culture.
The first 2 are classic, but I think to try and recreate that would be foolish.
I like to compare it to someone remaking a song I love.
I don't want to hear a note for note copy of the original.
I want to hear the artist take that original song at make it their own.
That's exactly what Rob Zombie did with Halloween.

Well put.

I think people may be dissapointment because they had the incorrect expectations.

They wanted Rob to do a John Carpenter-esque Halloween.

On top of this being remake or reimaging, this is Rob's visions and he went in another direction with it. He restarted it. At least he cared about fixing it since the frachise was broken, after all.

And I think Rob was born to do a Holloween movie, if you ask me. Which is what he did, twice, fantastically. They delved into Mike's psyche more than all the other films ever did combined.

So if people want to see Old school Mike Myers just rewatch the older Halloween movies.

And i kinda like the Butcher/Predator/Human concept rather than the dissapearing act/still phantom look. He's not as dramatic as Jason but he predates just as gruesomely when he catches his prey.

I dont think anything good came to the character of Myers even in Halloween 6. But 6 is actually one of my favorite additions to the series since its just soo damn fun to watch. And LMAO, Busta Rhymes kung fu kick to Myers is classic. (No I dont like Ressurection..)

I honestly dont really mind the vicious more violent Michael, as I stated above many times, it made for some great kills which turned out to be the only thing watchable in the film for me. However I still prefer the original mysterious Myers. Its really the other characters who were screwed over that upset me.

Fcukin' crazy twist at the end. omg. I held my mouth agaped, figuratively speaking.

I really hope you're joking. Its one of the most unoriginal twists I've ever seen. And if they work off this idea it will be even more rubbish than this film. The ending was awful much like the ending of the first remake (And yes, I did like the first remake), seems like Zombie cant write a good ending to save his life.

What do you expect from Zombie? All of his movies have that trailer trash feel to them. Which again brings me to believe he would have done better if hired for the TCM remake instead.

*shakes head* That was indeed horrendous. Resurrection, should burn all copies. Urgh.

I have seen twists like that before but this one got me good. I never imagined it would turn out that way.

And 07's ending ended in typical Halloween fashion with Mike seemingly getting killed somehow.

And what's TCM..?

I think i completely misunderstood this movie.

Spoiler:
I thought mike was only in her mind the whole time. That she was doing it all. That he was never in the film. But he was indeed. I remembered that he had got outta the van. but there were parts that seemed trippy. like is this real or in her mind. did she do it or did he do it.

now i really gotta see it again.

Spoiler:
So, if she didn't kill anyone, why did she end up where she ended up and what happened to mike after it was all over.

TCM = Texas Chainsaw Massacre.

Spoiler:
Mike is quite obviously real as he is killing people that are in completely different places as Laurie. The only hallucinations are her mom and young Mike. Mike's dead, she is in the asylum at the end because she quite obviously snapped right as she killed him. And now she has no perception of right and wrong, just like Mike. .
Like I said, awful ending...

So basically Zombie took from Halloween 4 with the girl donning the mask and going on a killing spree?

Jamie killed her adopted mother, thats hardly considered a killing spree.

Yeah!

So basically Zombie took from Halloween 4 with the girl donning the mask and going on a killing spree?

I was thinking that. So nothing that original or mindblowing as someone made it out to be.

It's not close to being similar, because Jamie didn't even kill anyone, she attacked her. Her stepmother was never, ever said to be dead, and plus, she only did so because she touched Michael's hand and was briefly possessed by his rage. Laurie, on the other hand, is seen sinking into insanity throughout the entire movie, and even then....

Spoiler:
she doesn't attack anyone, she only puts on the mask, and is put in a sanitarium. Plus, Laurie isn't intended to become the killer, which was stated by Zombie himself. He said it's an overly used cliche and he was only showing her step down Michael's path of insanity, but she's not that far gone.
Get your facts straight, people. 😉

Her step mother was dead though 😕

Ragging on Zombie's movies for having a trailer trash feel to them, when that's exactly the humor he's aiming for....
