Ha ha. Welcome back, AC. Try not get perm banned this time. It'd be dull around here without you.

How is it lame? The fact that I think it'll be pretty good and one of the best is because I'm excited because of the trailer and all of the featurettes I've read about it? Or are you calling me lame because you can't come to terms with the fact that you're a loser who can't keep his hand out of his pants? 😉
Please, just stop. You sound like a fool.
It won't necessarily be a disaster. I'll almost certainly watch it, at least. I just hope that they assume a fair amount of intelligence in the viewer and don't dumb the film down too much. It had better at least stay true to the spirit of Watchmen, even if parts must be cut out, which is, I suppose, understandable.
I have a question(please don't get all butt-hurt over it, I'm genuinely curious):
Why is there such a "snobby" attitude pertaining to this movie? Let me explain. Maybe I have to read the novel, I don't know, but it sounds to me like people are treating this like The Bible being put on film by Joel Schumaker. Why can't it just be another comic book movie? If it's good it's good, if it's not it's not. What I gather is that people like seeming intellectual by liking/knowing the novel and they don't want their Holy Grail sullied onscreen. "I just hope that they assume a fair amount of intelligence in the viewer and don't dumb the film down too much." Why is this statement necessary? Are the Watchmen Bio-engineering professors or something?
PEACE

It's a good and intelligent comic. I guess it's that people just don't want what they liked in it to be dumbed down to appeal to the greater masses. Kinda like how some people would object if a movie version of Ulysses would star Chuck Norris and be about Leopold Bloom roundhouse kicking his way through Dublin.

LOL!!!! OK, great explanation. Thanks.
That would be a great movie with Chuck Norris though!

2. This is Killer MOVIES.com, not Killer BOOKS.com, and I want to see the movie based on the trailer. That's why I'm asking questions.
Then ask objectively, don't ask in a negatively tinged post that suggests those of us pissed off at the movie are wrong, or overrating the book, when you have no knowledge.
