Out on DVD and Blu-ray March 24th it will also have Under the Hood on it

But the Black Freighter story loses a lot if it isn't shown parallel to the main story. In fact without Watchmen happening at the same time the Black Freighter story is just creepy for the sake of being creepy.

Well lets hope what Nihilist said ends up happening.

i think he meanns the US ign review

To get ready for this, I just watched a 2006 film called Little Children - because it stars both Patrick Wilson(NiteOwl) and Jackie Earl Haley(Rorschach), plus Kate Winslet & Jennifer Connelly. It's a disturbing look at what goes on in normal suburbia ( ala American Beauty), and Haley's performance as a tortured pedophile on parole revived his career big-time, got him an Oscar nomination, and the part in Watchmen. Check it out - watch how creepy yet pitable & sympathetic he is.

Yep, Little Children's a good flick.

AU one gave it 5 stars.

UK gave 2 stars.

The IGN Movies one (US I think) isn't out yet.

I know what you mean.

W/o Watchmen thats just a pretty grim and slightly horrific comic.

In other news, I just found out Watchmen will be an 18 when it's released here in the UK. SO I CAN'T GO TO THE CINEMA AND WATCH IT ='[

🙁

What else is new

UK movie reviewers always seem to be bit more harder to please.

Ah, didn't notice that was UK. 😮 That would explain it...

I'm pumped for Watchmen. After all this waiting, it's almost here! It saddens me to think that there are tons of people out there who have no idea what Watchmen even is or that it's based off of Moore's great graphic novel; they'll have no appreciation for it. But nonetheless, I'm hoping that fans will be satisfied with the movie.

It's been getting fairly good reviews overall: http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/watchmen/

Currently sitting at 78% at Rottentomatoes. Not bad.

Is the ending really changed? Does Ozy really

Spoiler:
convince Manhattan instead of the Alien Psychic Bomb?

Watchmen isn't as funny as the comic strip... DURRRRRR

^ Fairly amusing. Considering that the idiot didn't know that Alan Moore didn't want his name attached to any film projects that were based on his work. This is the only 'negative' review that I've read. So far, I've resigned that this guy just ...doesn't get it. Although, coming from the New Yorker, what do you expect?

The New Yorker is all "oooh, we're so intellectual. oooh, our newspaper has a guy with a monocole"

In the ever fitting words of Cassidy the vampire "Bleeding wankers more like"

Here you go.....so stop trying to DL Watchman before it comes out. Wait a few more days and go out to see it.

Wow, the New Yorker managed to completely and totally miss the point and the time that Watchmen was written and Alan Moore's feelings about "dark" comics. You'd think they'd at least take the time to do something approaching research.

'Amid these pompous grabs at horror, neither author nor director has much grasp of what genuine, unhyped suffering might be like'

Yeah, because the New Yorker clearly knows. 🙄

Talk about missing the point, that reviewer clearly doesn't know much about what he's talking about.

I hope the movie is good...i hope it strays as far away from the graphic novel as possible.....it was horrible.
