Yes, the leaders would, but there's so much more to a country and it's war effort than the national leader. If the President sided with the Imperials, Vader still has to take out the entire presidential administration, military hierarchy, intelligence bureau hierarchies, and the various other governmental fields. And that's just the one country.

No, breaking you will isn't always more useful, because in this scenario Vader is outmatched, and it's pretty hard (although still somewhat possible) to break the will of someone who's superior to you.

You've got to start recognizing the difference between arguing a single point, and arguing the entire issue. Vader could royally f*ck over the minds of a lot of top officials, if he got his "hands" on them, so to speak. There's no arguing that.

However... that does not mean those actions alone would win the battle for the Imperials. It's merely a field that the Imperials have an advantage, thanks to Vader.

I can see the Imperials winning this battle. As for the Stormtroopers vs a farmboy, a princess, and a smuggler, well those 3 have to win. If not, the Imperials will win the war against the Rebellion and there will be no NJO at all. Must we consider this a PIS?

The question is what we consider PIS and what we don't. We could say that the Imperials only beat the Rebels in that opening scene in order for Leia to be captured, C3PO/R2D2 to be on Tatooine and for the whole rescue Leia thing to happen.

Heck, we could say that the only reason why Luke can't wtfpwn everyone with a wave of his hand is because then there wouldn't be any movies.

And what defenses to the Imperials have against F-22s?

It tends to be PIS when the situation is ridiculous or doesn't fit in. The stormtroopers in the EU are elite troops, and Kenobi refers to their accuracy as "precise." There's also no established canon within the films actually calling them "horrible" or "inaccurate." But the heroes need to live---PIS.
