Virtually every video game reviewer / critic has already unanimously judged Uncharted 2 superior than MW2. The only thing MW2 does better than Uncharted 2 is sell more copies, which is a shame, and a black mark on the credibility of gamers... hence my posts. Buy MW2, I'm going to it looks great, but if you are only going to buy one game wait on buying MW2. It's going to get massive sales regardless that will cannibalise the sales of other, better games.

It just erks me that a relatively generic paint by the numbers game like MW2 is going to completely blow other smaller yet significantly better games (Brutal Legends / L4D2 / Uncharted 2) out of the water buy such a huge, HUGE, margin. MW2 is a behemoth, people are going to be playing it well into 2010, people can wait to pick it up with out hurting the developers.
As gamers it just pisses me off a little bit that casuals buy up stuff like Madden and CoD in massive quantities like the drones they are, while other more deserving games never get the acknowledgement they deserve from consumers. 🙁

Noone's expecting the single player game of MW2 to be anything special. That's not where the fun is to be had. Fact is that MW1 was pretty much perfect in terms of size and design of multiplayer maps. I do, however, fear, judging by some of the videos online of MW2 that they've gone down the route of of WaW and made the maps too big for the number of players that can play in a room.
Uncharted 2 looks like a cross between Prince of Persia and MGS...Not bad games to emulate. I personally don't like the game mechanics shown on some of the videos. The whole Gears of War style ducking behind cover (office desks in this case). The movement in and out of it in almost every game, feels clunky and badly done. If they can avoid that and do it so it's more instinctive such as in the Ghost Recon or "Conflict" series then i'll be happy though. I've noticed though, that as games get more complex then some 3rd person shooters fail to adapt to those increasing complexities with intuitive controls and need too many onscreen button combo prompts to help the player. (as seen in some of the uncharted 2 videos)

Because 1.5 million pre-orders for MW2 and 80k for Uncharted 2, diminishes the credibility of gamers. Uncharted 2 has been unanimously praised since it's inception from everyone working in the field, MW2 is like Wii-shovelware (hyberpole) in comparison and the huge discrepancy is sales between the two is mildly insulting?

If you get insulted by the fact that people would rather play a different game than you then I suggest you stay indoors the rest of your days. Do you get offended when someone orders a different meal from you in a restaraunt?...Same thing...A matter of taste.
Why is it even a valid comparison anyway? They are two completely different styles of games.
I played some of the Uncharted 2 single player campaign at FANEXPO, I can assure you controls are fluid and responsive, not clunky in the slightest.
I'll be the judge of that.

It should be mildly insulting to you as well. I consider video games an art form (maybe you don't - which could account difference in opinions) and I think the creators of deserve credit and recognizing that fits the quality of their product. Activision churns out a Call of Duty game every year, it's like Madden and consistently sells in excess of 10 million copies (life time of course) cannibalizing the sales of better games that have been in development longer, have superior graphics, character animations, stories and are over all superior across the board.
Anyway like I've said a few times, buy Call of Duty, just don't make it your only purchase, and if can only make one purchase, get Call of Duty at a later date since it won't be hurting for sales.

And as a gamer you should already own a PS3. With the amazing line up of games on all three platforms this generation; you should own all three systems if at all possible IMO.
