As I said before we could get 3 villains. Bane, catwoman and the riddler. As I think catwoman will be a vey small role!

Nolan already said that the Riddler will not be appearing in his upcoming movie. But having 3 villains is not a good idea IMO because it would be hard to develop all 3 characters. Look how Spider-Man 3 turned out. Bane is more than enough to be the film's main villain, since he is one of the most intelligent villains from the Batman comics (probably more intelligent than the Riddler). And since Catwoman will be the main love interest, I doubt it will be a small role.

Technically the dark knight had 3 villains too. Scarecrow, joker and 2 face. And if he does put 3 in I think one will be a very reduced role to maybe come back in a 4th movie? If we are lucky enough to get it.

Scarecrow appeared for about two minutes in TDK (literally). And there will be no 4th movie. I wonder what will happen to the franchise after Nolan leaves. Either someone else will take over and make Batman 4 or it will be rebooted again.

time for a little rant...

I like the title: The Dark Knight Rises, however I do wish it was called Shadow of the Bat.. The casting of Anne Hathaway and Tom Hardy are good IMHO.. Hathaway is good when she is a good script and is great on the eyes.. liked Hardy as Shinzon and in Inception.. Hardy as Bane can be done well as I don't see Bane like his counterpart comic book character.. Nor do I see Bane breaking Bruce Wayne's/Batman's back as that would not work in Nolanverse because 1st. off, who exactly will take over as Gotham City's newest protector until Batman returns and if that is how the film ends, that wouldn't make any sense especially since this is Team Nolan's final Batman film.. Repeat Team Nolan last film, but not the final Batman film as I truly believe WB will bring the next Batman film forward..

whatever the case may be I know I will thoroughly enjoy all this talk up until the film comes out and I know I will proudly sit in the 4th or 5th role in Century City several times

I don't like how it's called The Dark Knight Rises. Sounds like a 1st movie in a saga. Maybe it will have some significance in the story. Let's hope so. Wish it was called Gotham. Short sweet.

Cept Scarecrow was very little in it compared to Batman Begins.

I still think nolan is a fool to stop doing the batman films. And I think he really cares about batman. If something works the studio should stick with it. Maybe if they throw enough cash at Nolan he will continue on?

I agree.. I am sure once this comes out and is successful WB and team Nolan should sit down and he should be given first refusal to do Batman 4.. Perhaps even don't direct, but Exec Produce it

Sounds like we will get some snow scenes. Nolan is apparently having a helicopter take footage of New York covered in snow.

Or, for the love of everything holy, write the script! I don't think the Nolans have written one bad script.

I think Batman Begins was good and acted as a good origin story but I don't think the series really started until The Dark Knight. I just don't see the villain combo of Catwoman and Bane having that conclusive element to it.

And I'm not one for having a more than 3 movies to it. I think if you need to tell a story have it based in 3 movies, once you go into 4 I think it's over done. But hell, I'd make an exception for this seeing as there are better/more interesting villains out there.

i have already 😄

in all seriousness Nolan should be given every opportunity to change his mind once TDKR comes out.. WB won't stop at this so number 4 will feature Team Nolan or a brand new story not related to Nolanverse 🙁

Pretty sure Nolan stated in an interview that he was going to end the story with the trilogy.

"Without getting into specifics, the key thing that makes the third film a great possibility for us is that we want to finish our story. And in viewing it as the finishing of a story rather than infinitely blowing up the balloon and expanding the story... I'm very excited about the end of the film, the conclusion, and what we’ve done with the characters. My brother has come up with some pretty exciting stuff. Unlike the comics, these things don’t go on forever in film and viewing it as a story with an end is useful. Viewing it as an ending, that sets you very much on the right track about the appropriate conclusion and the essence of what tale we're telling. And it hearkens back to that priority of trying to find the reality in these fantastic stories."

I think Bruce might hang up the cape at the end here. We'll see another Batman film, but it will probably come to us as a reboot in the distant future.

WB would be stupid not to offer noland a pile of money to do a 4th or 5th or 6th movie. If it ain't broke don't fix it!!! And please for the love of pete don't reboot it again espicially after only 5 or 6 years. And besides nothing will compare to batman begins and dark knight.

i agree.. as much as i love the originals, they do not compare to what Nolan has done

I feel more settled about just a trilogy by this. Hell, I gotta trust Nolan, I have no reason not to.
