Elektra is essentially a stronger, faster and more skilled version of Lady Shiva (who is more skilled than Batman), with a wide assortment of quasi-mystical ninja abilities. Batman can't take her in a hand to hand combat.

Shiva has said she is better than Batman, Nightwing has said it, Richard Dragon said that only he or Connar Hawke could take Shiva (Dragon referred to Batman as a talented amateur) and Batman has insinuated that Shiva is better as well. Everyone in DC (including Batman) thinks Shiva is a better fighter than Batman... but I guess you know better?
