Odd, I was of the opinion that no one was wrong, but that I was the most correct. Weird how you spun that. 🙂
So you were doubly wrong even. And I am hardly the one spinning thing here, eh? 🙂

No, that would make me the most correct. 🙂

But you really aren't. You are "correct" only in the parts where you agree with us, the others, i.e. they are Zombies blah blah, are just wrong. So, if anything you are the least correct, but in common discourse we just call it "wrong". No worries though, moving on then? Zombie Apocalypse still in the happening after all...hey, at least we are safe from the I Am Legend monsters, seeing how they are not Zombies, right?

So, that means I win teh threads, hands down, if we go by the book. Because some of the vampires were revived dead. MWHAHAHAHAHAAA.

Not even close:

vam⋅pire n.

1. A preternatural being, commonly believed to be a reanimated corpse, that is said to suck the blood of sleeping persons at night.

2. A corpse, animated by an un-departed soul or demon, that leaves the grave and disturbs the living, until it is exhumed and impaled or burned.

3. A person who preys ruthlessly upon others; extortionist.

4.

A woman who unscrupulously exploits, ruins, or degrades the men she seduces.

An actress noted for such roles.
#2 is so ridiculously close to a Zombie and you know it. Come on. 😛

When you factor in the other aspects of the book, the blood-sucking, fangs, fear of religious symbols, aversion to garlic and mirrors, death in sunlight etc. They're clearly not zombies, but strictly vampires, Mr. Scott.

Now back to my original point: I was originally talking about the movie version of the creatures.

They're not zombies either. They breath, sleep, have higher intelligence*, sunlight burns them and can be potentially cured of their disease; not reversed of undeath. They're mutated humans with hints of a vampire aspect thrown in, ie the bald Nosferatu look and sunlight aversion.

*They laid a complex trap which consisted of using a pulley, counter-weight, a decoy Neville was familiar with and they hide the trigger in a pool of water. They also domesticated and used mutant dogs to hunt with.

k. i was going to answer the thread but what the hey...

the creatures in I Am Legend were meant to be vampiric only. there were no zombie elements intended.

films such as George Romero's Night Of The Living Dead and 28 Days Later cite inspiration from I Am Legend, but...

the only inspiration that was taken was the apocalyptic vision and the infection ideas, and it was attached to the then known idea of a zombie, and turned them into a plague.

I Am Legend= vampires/mutants

Night Of The Living Dead= zombies

28 Days Later= living infected with the rage virus.

Why are we discussing vampires when this is a thread that talks about a zombie apocalypse?

why is their always one ass-hat who has to disagree with everyone when literally EVERYONE is telling him hes wrong and they're right? 😬 theyre not zombies move on.

in any case, my first reaction if there was a zombie outbreak would be to just follow the military around but i dont know how smart thatd actually be. if my country performed their own version of the redeker plan and i was around the military i might be used as a decoy.

so i dunno.

beats me i just got here. like i said i was going to answer the thread title.

oh, and what i would do? not much im a coward and afraid of zombies. you all seem to have found ways to take care of the problem so im just going to hide somewhere high up until you people finish.

Or you could risk ending up surrounded by a bunch of well armed scum who'd want to use your mouth, vagina and anus at their leisure, like the scum in 28 Days Later.

The alternate, you could hump it around the wasteland with RJ dressed like this*, on the bright side, you'd be sexually safe and he's capable with firearms.

do any of you guys think it would be a good idea to go find a military base for protection three months after the infection?

No, 9 weeks is the accepted cut-off for 'finding military base for protection after infection.'

i try to stay optimistic when it coems to humanity but this is a very probable outcome that i hadnt thought of lol.

The military has fallen, zombies, they wage total war, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. No vacations, no holidays, no sick-days, they don't even take bathroom breaks.

endquote. 😉
